It's been awhile...

My two year anniversary is coming up this December. My weight is good, hovering between 125 and 128. But, I have a weird issue. Long before surgery I thought I went through the change. Now, all of a sudden I'm getting hot flashes, especially at night. I usually am cold all the time, except for the hot flashes, but they don't occur everynight.

Is my body telling me something? My appetite still hasn't returned. I go for all my bloodwork in December.

I do crave sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello. I can't seem to shake that craving. That's my only bad except for coffee. I order a grande Misto at SB which is mostly coffee and a little almond milk. Coconut milk is way too sweet and cows milk makes me ill.

I haven't had anything I'm not supposed to. Sweets like cake, cookies, candy don't even phase me anymore. They are all on the wall of "NO" along with naughty carbs and starchy veggies. My energy is a bit better, and finally my mom has stopped nagging me about my weight.

  1. I have no advice or insight about your hot flashes, sorry. If you had just lost or were still losing, it would make some sense since as fat is released, hormonal flooding can occur. But since you hit menopause long before surgery, I don't know if that's the cause. But I wanted to say hi anyway, and hope you stick around!

I would tell your doc before your labs are drawn and see if he wants to order anything else. Night sweats can be symptomatic for other issues.

Sounds like a possible iron deficiency. Make sure they check your ferritin.
