Amy, thank you for your kind words!! You inspired me with the photo you posted of yourself in slacks and your striped top at, I think, your 1-year mark - you looked so beautiful and lean, and that image really did help me to stay steady and true. Xoxox!

I know, it's crazy, right? I'm only 5'4" but have broad shoulders, long torso, wide rib cage and hip bones. I do look and feel a bit bony but with too much skin. I only have a little fat on my belly left. I will look into a DEXA, very seriously now.

I'm taller and am getting to be on the bony side too, with extra skin. I still think I have extra fat, a bit on my ribs, and definitely in my abdomen. Yup. A DEXA scan will really help clarify things for both of us, I think.

Hang in there, you are doing great and the hardest part of this journey for me has been in my own head.

It is kind of confusing. You look gorgeous Amy! But we need to not just look gorgeous, but also be healthy and resilient. I confess to being a little confused as well.

Good morning menu buddies! I am late this morning because of yoga. It was such a good session! I am not much into the spirituality of the practice, but I love the stretching and relaxing. I am feeling so good I am going to get straight on the treadmill after posting here.

Qotd: Disclaimer...I was quite young when I saw this, but I visited frequently and although it is possible my memory has exaggerated details the effect remains. My Great Grandparents (the same from yesterday's Qotd) had a tiny house, nice on the outside. Inside was dark and everything was heavy, scratchy and smelled funny... except for these pristine white porcelain figures of solo women and women with greyhounds. Each figure had fiber optic light things coming out from the back or base. There were at least a dozen and the contrast between these figures and the rest of the house was truly bizarre.

Accountability: I did try a small bite of birthday cake yesterday. It was a little dry and not my flavor so I was satisfied with just the tiny bite. I also used the treadmill yesterday, so all in all a good day!

Bf: 2 vanilla protein pancakes, 1t margarine, 1/4 cup sugar free syrup

MS: 4 pieces sugar free chocolate, premier protein shake

L: 1 serving real good pizza

AS: babybel, protein water

Goals: 1000 calories, 100g protein, 100oz water, 1hour yoga, 1hour treadmill, all vitamins

hey everyone, I know I am late but its better than not making it at all!
I don't have much time to post today but I will try to get back and read some of these later.

I had a great weekend, Saturday was action packed once again...I took Story shopping with me on Sunday for some new boots because I literally cannot wear any of the ones I have.
it makes me kind of sad because I had 8 pairs of really nice ones that took me FOREVER to find the right size/style that would fit over my calves...and now they all look like I am a 5 year old trying on their parents shoes!
I've always bought boots in size 10 wide, and needed the extra wide calves...and heels usually in size 10 also so they wouldn't squeeze...I was surprised to find that I am actually somewhere between a size 8.5-9 and I don't need to even wear wide width anymore. I thought for sure I'd always have wide feet because I got my mom's foot shape and she always wore wide shoes even when she was only 115 lbs.
I found one pair of REGULAR calf boots--some are still a bit snug but some fit perfectly!
Story actually picked out a super cute pair of heels for me that I never would have thought would fit but she begged me to put them on and they were perfect...they literally feel like they were made for my feet...the most comfortable heels I have ever worn, and they were marked down on CLEARANCE from $118 to $12.99!!

QOTD: I can't come up with anything right now but I am sure I have seen some super bizarre things. I have a lot of weird friends and acquaintances so maybe the weirdness doesn't stick out to me anymore! haha.

B: coffee w/sf creamer, 1/2 C cottage cheese w/3 giant strawberries chopped up
L: turkey chili w/1 tbsp sour cream
D: maybe I will Finally make those chipotle salmon burgers? haha--lets just say I'll plan on it, but it might just end up being omelettes depending on how I feel when I get home.

Hello all! Happy October! It's my favorite month of all!

152.4# today, getting close to my first goal of being under 150, and only 10.4# from my second goal of 142! I anticipate that this will take many weeks yet to reach, but that's ok with me.

QOTD: Once I lived in NYC in a 5th-floor walk-up. An elderly couple lived in an apartment on the first floor. One day a fire started in their apartment. The fire department came with trucks and hoses, and everyone was ushered out of the building. As I exited, I looked into their apartment. It was stunning to me, unlike anything I had ever seen before, a rabbit's warren of narrow paths between floor to ceiling (literally!) stacks of newspapers and magazines. There was a narrow path from the front door to the kitchen sink, etc., and another narrow path leading to their bedroom. It was shocking to me to realize this was how they lived.

I also visited a couple at their home in Northern California several years ago. Every inch of their house was covered with - stuff. She was a prodigious and eclectic collector of 1920s-1940s memorabilia and items. It was like an unkempt and very dusty museum. The walls were so covered with ephemera that there was little wall left exposed. The Victorian aesthetic of horror vacuii had nothing on her! In one room a gigantic, fully decorated Christmas tree sat, thick with dust. The lighting throughout was weirdly dim. In one of the bedrooms, she had had a beautiful Scandinavian pocket-style bed built. I've posted a photo of this style, below. The bed was painted a brilliant yellow. She called it her "tribute to Carl Larsson" (Larsson is one of my all time favorite illustrators). The worst of the house was the kitchen, which, though cheerful with old fiestaware, a big red wood-burning stove, and a 1930s icebox, also featured Norwegian rats and their droppings. The entire environment was unforgettable!

First: tea, and lots of it

B: an egg with Swiss cheese

L: chicken

D: tuna

S: probably more chicken

Have a lovely day, my friends!
