What's on your Saturday Menu RNY'ers?
I don't hear my parents accents much because I'm used to it. Anyone that meets my parents says they can not understand them, which baffles me since they sound normal to me. Even after 15 years of marriage I have to 'translate' for hubby.

Mornin' Weekenders!
We have an all-day current events/social justice type of conference today, so I hope DH gets up soon!! Daily exercise will start back up tomorrow as I'm now seven weeks out of plastic surgery. It's time. I'm having them reinstate my membership at my yoga studio starting tomorrow (it's been suspended this whole time). I should have suspended my gym membership as well (if they even do that - I didn't ask...)
QOTD: my grandparents were all born in the US; my great grandparents were all born in Europe. Both grandfathers' parents were from Sweden. My paternal grandmother's parents were from Scotland. Maternal grandmother's family was weird. They always told us they were from Austria (well, my great grandmother, anyway - my great grandfather died before I was born). I found out after doing some research and some DNA testing, however, that they were (mostly) ethnic Germans, but their families had lived in what is now Romania for over 300 years. We have distant cousins who are Hungarian, Czech, Romanian, Ukrainian - might be a couple others I'm forgetting. As for DNA tests, I've taken both AncestryDNA and Family Tree DNA. I've "met" several cousins through it, some of whom are now my Facebook friends (well, and a couple I've actually met in person, since those two happen to live in the Chicago area). I have a third cousin in London and fourth cousin in Edinburgh that I've had a ton of contact with - I'd hoping to go see them next summer

Morning folks!
I didn't sleep well last night and tried to sleep in for a while this morning. It is a beautiful day, so I hope that I can get motivated and enjoy it a bit. I'd like to take a 6-8 mile hike and I also have some clean-up in the yard that would be great to tackle. DW wants to go swimming tomorrow if she feels okay so that will be nice.
QOTD: I had always been told that my father's side was German and my mother's side was English and Cherokee. Both sides have been here since the 18th & early 19th century, so no recent immigrants here. I had done some genealogy searching 30 years ago so I had some ideas. When I did my Ancestry DNA, their estimate is 59% England/Wales, 29% Germanic, 10% Ireland/Scotland. I went on to use the Ancestry part too and can't find any evidence of Cherokee (although I have ancestors who were in VA in the early 18th century when records were alot more "fluid") and alot more English and Irish than I had known about. I did find a few folks who came on the Mayflower and through MA & PA. I'm not hugely into it, but it has been interesting.
Menu:
B: ham, TJ pumpkin waffle
No clue for the rest of the day although I'd love a steak and I have some steamed shrimp
Exercise: gardening and a walk/hike
HW: 248+, SW (RNY: 2/28/17): 244, GW (10/17): 125; LW: 115; 45# regain (19-20); CW: 135.6; new goal: 135; Plastics: Ext mastopexy, Ext abdominoplasty-5/18/2018; diagnosed w/ gastroparesis 11/20.
to get those percentages, they compare your results to other people who have taken the test. If hardly any people of Cherokee descent have taken it, and a ton of English people have, it could skew your results. They do recalculate it from time to time, and it supposedly becomes more and more accurate as more and more people take the test. They just recalculated everyone about a month ago, so you might want to login again. My percentages changed, and they're closer to what I am on paper than they were when I first took the test a year or so ago.
as for your DNA matches (the people they list), those should be fairly accurate as they base those on how much DNA you share with those people But those ethnic percentages can be pretty ballpark-y, from what I hear...
Good Morning Peach and Menu Family! Thanks for starting us off, Peach! That's so cool that you are Jamaican on both sides and a first generation American, Peach!
QOTD: My paternal grandparents both came to America from Denmark in their teens so my dad was 100% Danish. My mom had a little Danish in her, so I'm more than half Danish. I did have DNA testing done on myself and Saralisa. (She's a mixture of European countries, mostly). My mom's family has English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish and other European countries in their background.

Good morning~ So grateful for Saturday morning. I slept in until 6:30 - that never happens, it was wonderful! Now it's coffee, food network and OH. Food network - I still watch a lot...most times it doesn't bother me, but just now there was pizza on that just killed me! On the agenda today - cleaning, swimming, errands and chilling. We are going to visit my son next weekend so relaxing is the main plan this weekend.
QOTD - My dad is 100% Irish, my mom is irish/scottish/english/german. Rob is also mostly Irish, but he doesn't know much about his family heritage. We plan to do the DNA tests and see where we are from then plan a trip for our 5th anniversary.
Accountability - I ended up eating pork rinds and peanuts instead of dinner and evening snack. The calories were about the same, but not the macros weren't. I impulsively bought those things while shopping. Anyway with how my teeth are moving (invisalign) chewing is difficult so peanuts are out now, you really need to be able to grind/chew them and I can't so it's not the same.
22 mo out - 155.5
b-coffee x3, yogurt
l-eggbeaters w/green chiles and salsa
d- turkey cutlets, green beans
es- yogurt
v/l - on track
e- lap swim - shooting for 60 min, but I'd be happy with 45
Have a great day!

Good morning,
I have some errands to run then I'm going over to my friends house to help her get her apartment ready for when she comes home from the hospital. She's having a total hip replacement on Tuesday. She has to travel across the state to have it done since she's a veteran. I won't see her for awhile.
Qotd never did any testing but my parents said my relatives are English, Irish, welsh, and Scottish.
B ham and cheese omelette and string cheese
L tuna, cottage cheese and honeycrisp apple
D my friend is making me dinner so I don't really know but she knows how I eat.
Have a good day
Good morning and happy Saturday! Today is my one month surgiversary. Yesterday I had my 1 month appointment with my surgeon's Nurse Practitioner. She cleared me to go back to the gym and was able to go last night. I am really starting to feel a sense of normalcy. She also gave me some wipes to get the last of the tape glue off of me. Hopefully they work. I can almost say they I am now bruise free but there is a bit of a faint lingering bruise around one of the incisions
Today I am off to get my haircut and get some smaller pants. I have a few small household maintenance items and a trip to the gym as well. Football tonight.
QOTD: All Irish. When I was in Ireland the tour guide told me where each of my four grandparents families were from by there name. The two that I knew matched.
Breakfast: Turkey sausage and cottage cheese
Snack: Greek Yogurt
Lunch: meatball and green beans
Snack: deli turkey and cheese, SF Jello and/or SF popsicles
Dinner: COD
Have a great Saturday all

A lazy day. I am again, still in bed this morning. No plans for today either, except to make a dessert to bring to a party tomorrow and watch the baseball game in about 20 minutes. That means today will be spent sewing!!!
Qotd: This is currently a complicated question. I was told growing up that I am 50% Irish, my dad being 100%Irish. The other side was mostly German, and English with a little French. Come to find out that isn't true at all. My great grandmother lied to me! She wasn't even completely Irish, neither her nor my great grandfather came over from Ireland like she insisted. In fact, her husband (my g. Grandfather) was 100% French and was born in Canada! I still wish I could find out why she lied...
