Too little calories = stall?

No, you aren't alone.

I am pretty meticulous, yet I still do the same subconscious justification. Plus, I am definitely hungrier.

Additionally, it's definitely a lot of work to lose the further out that you are. Infinitely more.

Losing 3 pounds in 2.5 weeks, if it's actual weight and not just fluctuation, is actually quite good. Keep it up.

it has been very very hard to me to lose my regain. I feel like my body is recomping which is amazing. And I'm losing inches--- BUT - the scale keeps creeping its way up and up and up. Which means I'm not creating enough of a deficit for the scale to move.

I'm just going to have to go hard core for a while to get some more of the pounds off the scale while keeping up my strength training.

understood---

I wasn't saying I had a bad diet, I just think I'm eating too many calories so I'm not creating enough of a deficit to consistently lose even with the exercise.

Wow, thank you for these numbers. I'll save them because I'm the same height and would love to be under 150.

Keep in mind, you may be able to eat more or less -- depending on your body, however. I hope you can eat more!

Hey back at'cha!

125# regain lost (May, 2017 to May,2018) and then an additional 10 pounds below my original lowest as of now.

My experience and take on your (what I think your question really might be)- "I'm doing the right thing, it has been working and now it's not--What's up, and what can I do?"

Your body will do what your body will do. Who knows?, maybe it is taking a much needed break- readjusting- getting used to the new--retaining water (yep, that can happen and hold on to it for a while, too)- hell, maybe your body is playing a mean little joke- whatever.

Question re shaking up the calorie count- When in your experience did increasing calories ever work out to a weight loss? I see this idea floating around, dying a deserved death, and then amazingly resurrecting again. I call shenanigans on it. Sure, eat more, get on the scales--see them drop a # or two-The two actions are not necessarily related at all. PLUS- It doesn't last.

Temporary measures reap temporary results. What works is what will give you a general TRENDING DOWN of weight OVER TIME. Don't sweat the small stuff- that is to say, a few weeks--or 4 or even 5 for that matter. What does matter is doing the right thing- making those choices each day to eat well, and wisely- protein forward, good for you complex carbs, plenty of hydration--you know the drill.

It sounds to me like you're doing the right things nutritionally and have seen results- so-take an accurate and honest inventory-and if you are spot on..stay there and continue on. Knee jerk and emotional reactions to my own experience with weight loss or gain always resulted in failure , unhappiness and frustration.

Slow and steady wins this race; if your face and feet are pointed in the right direction, that will be the destination you will arrive at--in the right time. You can do this--I'm rooting for you! -Bonnie

When I was losing my regain I stuck with it changing what food I was eating from time to time (I tend to eat the same thing over and over again) and how I was moving. From biking to swimming. But all in all stuck with the basic rules and it did come off, it just takes time and slows down and or even stops for awhile.

Hang in there... Let me know if you need me to send you my list of getting back to the basics if you think that will help

Take care,

Kathy

Hey everyone !!

I have lost 20 lbs of my regain - I was losing pretty steadily for a while, but for the past couple of weeks have been going up/down within a pound. I have been eating around 700-800 calories/day with minimal complex carbs and appx 90g of protein (a lot of chicken !!)

If I scatter my calories more (lower one day, higher the next, and so on)... could that possibly trick my metabolism into losing again ? Getting REALLY annoyed !!! LoL

Mo

no too little calories = your body burning your stored fat to use for energy.

You may have to drop down to 700 and maybe down 600,but your body will start bburning y our stored fat again. Burning stored fat = weight loss.

Give up those complex carbs. They are mostly sugar after all.
