What's on your Wednesday Menu RNY'ers?
I agree, but I eat lean and work out hard 5-6 days a week (vigorous cardio and weight training) so this amount of change causes me to question what is happening.

Forgot to answer the QOTD: I have a BA & a BS plus I have a Masters in Library Science. I always thought that I'd get a subject area masters but once I got my Fed. job I was too busy and secure to leave for another degree. It's okay and I don't miss studying all the time but I do miss the stimulation of the classroom.

Good Morning Peach and Menu Family!
Wow, Peach, so sorry to hear about your friend with the new baby who lost her husband and the boy getting shot at your son's school! How sad.
QOTD: I had a double major in Art and Psychology. I was all ready to graduate and found out I couldn't because the foreign language classes I had taken weren't upper level classes. I already had my sign / art business so I said, "The heck with it, who needs that piece of paper!" However, many years later, after Saralisa was born, I went back to school, took more Art classes and got a Bachelor's of Fine Arts with a Comprehensive Major in Art (which didn't require foreign language). I wanted to be a college graduate so that Saralisa could be proud of me.
Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 102, Calories - 1,594, Carbs - 228.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana, light & fit Greek yogurt
L: going to my friend's house, not sure what's on her menu
D: Healthy Choice meal, light & fit Greek yogurt
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana, light & fit Greek yogurt
E: walking at Walmart
Have a great day everyone!

Peach, I'm so sorry for that news. Just sad all the way around. And that shooting is so scary. My DS lived in an apartment for a while near where another young man was shot and it made me super anxious as well.
I can't believe that September is over at the end of the week! It is rainy this morning but it will dry out this afternoon. Starting tomorrow there will be crisp fall weather. It seems like it came very suddenly, but I think that is because the end of summer here happened while we were on our trip.
QOTD: When I started working for the company where I stayed for most of my career, I had only completed one year of college. With financial help from my company, I finished college and ultimately attained an MBA. I briefly flirted with the idea of continuing on to get a PHD, but it wouldn't have done anything for my career at that point and it had been really difficult juggling school with a full-time job and children. I really enjoyed my classes over those years, more than my full time year. My youngest DD has started on an MBA program part-time recently and it seems much easier to manage with the ability to do a lot of the classes online and with schedules much more flexible than traditional semesters were for me.

I agree that being able to flexible online classes would certainly make getting a degree easier.

Good morning all. Today is my one month nutritionist appointment. This is the fourth different nutritionist that I have seen. The one that I met with for the first five months of my six month pre-surgery program left to go to another hospital. So i had my sixth appointment with a different nutritionist at the same facility. Then I had a third one at the hospital. And now a fourth. I think that I am seeing this one because they wanted availability around the one month period. All of them have been fine to work with and the advice seems sound for bariatric patients (no white carbs, calorie levels around what others have).
QOTD: I am a CPA and have a Bachelors in Business Administration and and Masters degree in Taxation. I could have gone to law school but I would have ended upon the same place so I am glad I didn't incur the cost in time and money. I may pursue an online Masters in History in a few years but it would only be because i am a dork, not to advance my career
Breakfast: Turkey sausage
Snack: Volpi
Lunch: Chili
Snack: Cottage cheese, SF jello or pudding
Dinner: Turkey meatballs
Have a great day all.

wow Peach - that is awful!! That situation with your friend - how do people even deal with something like that?? That poor woman! As for the shooting, I'm glad to hear the student is OK!
Off to my class on 1968 this morning. Yesterday I went to a class on our current political situation, and it was fantastic! The two instructors were retired political science professors and we'll have several guest lecturers this semester - most current local & state politicians. This is going to be great! Looking forward to the course on 1968, too!
QOTD: the courses above (non-credit - for people age 50+) are part of a teaching & learning organization I joined this summer. The fall semester started this week. They have probably 40 or so classes each semester - plus one-shot lectures, day trips to places like museums, plays, and concerts, and various social events. I live in a big university town, so there are lots of retired (and still working) university people around here, and lots of them belong to this organization and/or teach the classes. I am in heaven!
other than that, it looks like my YMCA wants to pursue sending me to training to obtain water fitness instructor certification - so there's that, too.
as for my formal education, I have two master's degrees (one in counseling, the other in library science). At one time (before the library degree) I entertained the idea of going for a PhD in history, but I was really afraid of ending up in some two-bit town out in the middle of nowhere, if I was lucky enough to get a job at all. No thanks. Figured I could do more - and go to more places - with a library degree (although that field is pretty closed, too, unfortunately...but not nearly as bad as some academic fields. At any rate, everything turned out fine for me!)
weight is up this morning - too much eating out last week (and yesterday) - thank God I have no more eating out plans for awhile!! I'm going to try to spread these meet-ups out more - or suggest coffee with some of these people instead of lunch.
