Morning all! Mid-week is upon us. I was in a bad mood the past day and a half over a number of things. A student was shot outside of my son's school (stray bullet) so I was anxious over that. (Student is ok). A friend of mine lost her husband unexpectedly. They'd been married less than a year and are expecting. She had the baby last Tuesday than had to bury her husband on Wednesday. My mind can't even wrap my head around the emotional roller coaster she's been on. And some stuff at work has left me feeling unappreciated. I'm gonna work on being in a better mood today.

Ni weight yet, 3.4 years out

Qotd: anyone in school currently? What are you trying to attain? I really should get a certification for my career- but I don't want to be in a course after work. I could self study- but I hear you're more successful when you take the course. And I don't want to have to pay for it either. What's the highest level of education you achieved? Happy with it or wish you went back for more? I have a bachelors- and cause of my high student loan balance, it will take an act of god for me to pursue anything else.

Happy Wednesday!

Peach, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. What a complete tragedy - just so sad. She is in my prayers. When I taught in Baltimore City I was taking my class out for recess and there were two men outside of the school shooting at each other. I will never forget that day, as I am sure your son will not either. It is sad that this is what the world has come too. Children can't be children anymore and that breaks my heart.

Today the 5th grade travels to Fair Hill Nature Center. My least favorite (yearly) trip in the woods and water. I don't like the bugs, I don't like creepy crawlies, I just don't like it...at...all. The only goodt thingis I get to wear shorts, t-shirt and sneakers!

QOTD: I have a master's degree in education and I am a nation board certified teacher.

9 months out - weight 169

B: PP chocolate shake

L: extra small salad (maybe 1/4 spring mix) 3-ounces chicken, 1 tbsp tomato, 1 tbsp red onion with a sprinkle of evoo and vinegar, salt and pepper, 1/4 c. greek yogurt and a clementine

S: probably the clementine or yogurt from lunch because I won't eat all of that at lunch

D: leftovers - cleaning out the fridge either more chicken enchilada soup or a protein waffle (I'm leaning toward the waffle)

Lots of water and my vitamins.

Enjoy your day!

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Good luck on the field trip. My son is a senior and I managed to miss them all. Always was a surplus of the perky hearty moms around.

I went to very few field trips for younger DD as her class had a lot of volunteers, but I was on every one for DS. for some reason his class was short in parent volunteers.

I am very lucky. I spent my time at swimming pools for 8 years. I had it down!

Anyway your work would pay for your course? I worked up the nursing ladder until I got a BSN. By that time my mantra was no more school ever. I was right!

Today I ate Greek salad, yogurt, bran, peanut butter, and a Quest "cookie".

I met my fluid goals.

Good morning!

qotd: I have bachelors degrees in English and secondary education, and minors in creative writing, journalism, and art. Like you, Peach, I have a high student loan balance and am unlikely to pursue any higher education because if it. Funny thing is, I work in finance now, so those degrees collect dust. I may go for my series 7, which is a certification that serves as a baseline for becoming a financial advisor (allows you to do trades). I don't have much interest in being a financial advisor, but many of the management level positions in my office require it, and my work will pay for training materials and one attempt.

Breakfast: my work is having a taco-themed charity potluck today. I will buy a breakfast burrito for the cause, and just eat the insides.

Snack: coffee protein drink

lunch: I'm supplying shredded chicken for tacos for the potluck, and I think someone else is bringing ground beef, so I know I'll eat protein for sure with whatever taco toppings people bring.

Dinner: up in the air. I have a ton of leftovers to be eaten in the fridge, so I might play "leftover roulette" :P
