Oh good to know that you too experienced a similar pain - though of course I am sorry you did, cause it hurts! I was very large too (44DD) and am still in an enormous size - 34G in this style of bra - my ribs are 31" under my band, but the band in this particular style runs very tight, painfully so actually, so I am in a 34 -but weirdly I don't think that I look as huge as that sounds. It sounds extravagent, porn-star large, but really it doesn't look it, I just look fairly normal. Probably because the bra is so intensely supportive, kind of like a sports bra, and it's purpose is that rather than to serve the girls up on a plate. I look forward to those moments of intense shooting pain being a thing of the past.
Yes, the calorie thing - I think we will both be okay once we carefully transition. I did one of those metabolic tests about 15 years ago wherein you blow into a device and by doing so your base caloric level is discovered - that is, how much your body burns at rest every day. At that point mine was 1400 calories. I hope that that I won't be too far off that mark when I do get into maintenance, but whatever it will be it will be. Even if it's only 1000 or 1200 calories a day, with smart and conscientious eating, weighing and record keeping, I think I can manage. We will be okay Amy! I do however wish my scale would move already!
I had the same weird pain too. It went away eventually. Maybe after a few months (I can't remember exactly, but I realized at one point that it was gone)?

I'm glad to know I'm not alone, and find it interesting that at least 3 of us here have experienced this pain! It does seem to be directly related to changes in our bodies from dieting, and it's so painful and strange that I really wonder what precise mechanism is involved. But Amy's pain went away, and yours did too, as did mine back when I experienced it during previous diets, so I'm sure my current bout will also subside - hopefully soon!
