Happy Friday folks! I'm working at home this morning so I got to sleep in a bit. It was lovely but the cats used the opportunity to beg for betting. Not a bad way to start the day though. I am taking most of the afternoon off to work out with my trainer and then to spend some time with DW. We are certainly living in a holding pattern where there are no guarantees what her cognitive function will be in the future. I want to treasure this time as much as possible.
We've decided to go to Longwood Gardens this weekend for the Dahlia Show. Saturday is supposed to be nice but rain on Sunday. My Mom is planning to meet us on Sunday but we'll see how it goes. I'm not thrilled about walking around in the rain. We enjoy going though so it should be fun. Also LOTS of steps on the FitBit!
Yesterday, I took an extra long walk during lunch. I know how many steps I took but the mileage is a little unclear because I got a little lost! I had planned to walk from my office to the Lincoln Memorial but ended up turning left-ish instead of right-ish and wound up at the FDR and MLK Memorials and almost to the Jefferson Memorial instead (pics as evidence!). I'm glad I had my phone with me and I ended up going onto Google Maps to find my way back. Seems odd I guess but I couldn't see the Washington Monument to get my directions reset. A little like walking on a cloudy night and not being able to see the Big Dipper!
QOTD: The only answer I have is that when I was in elementary school, people said that I looked like Melissa Gilbert in Little House on the Prairie. I don't think we look alike now but I can see the earlier resemblance.

It is and it isn't a great city to walk in. There are lots of parks and trees and green spaces that are nice but there are also TONS of tourists who wander around with their faces in their phones!

The neurologist says that the Aricept and blood thinners MAY help her brain to regenerate but that the mini-strokes will continue. Just no guarantees...

I know for some people in our support groups it seems to stop progressing. I hope that is true (or better) for DW. She must be young to have this happening?

She's not quite 52.
