What's on your Tuesday menu?
Good afternoon,
I had a busy morning took friend to drs appt. At first I didn't know if I was going to get her there on time, went to get on the highway and it was backed up, got to the next exit and was trying to take the city's streets and kept hitting every red light. But I got her there on time. Then she wanted something to eat so I had an early lunch and took her to work. I got this flyer in the mail, I thought I won 1000 dollars but it was a scheme to get you in to buy a car. I got 2.00 and a scratch off ticket but I didn't win on it.
Qotd try to plan ahead and only take meat and veggies for a care package not the goodies.
B ham and cheese omelette and string cheese
L meat lovers omelette and raisin toast
D keto lasagna and broccoli
Have a good day
Good afternoon! It's been going well in my camp, though I'm not on here as regularly as I'd like. Not much to report, really. I've been busy working on a million things around the house. Cutting trees down that didn't make it, winterizing things, caulking and general cleanup. On top of work I've been busy.
Menu has been good. Today has been very protein-forward, though I did put a little hot chocolate in my coffee cup to give it a bit of flavour.
Qotd: it all comes back to my brain saying "Will this help me or hinder me?". That seems to work in my mind. I'm not perfect and won't pretend to be. Sometimes a cookie or whatever happens, but if I overdo it a couple things are inevitable. Weight loss stops or reverses (I still weigh daily) by a pound which wakes me up, or more often, I feel so gross that it just isn't worth it. Feeling that way isn't a good thing.
I power through the bulk of the baking season by drinking more water, more decaf if need be, and minimizing the samples as much as I can. The "food is fuel" mantra along with a continued lack of hunger (ever) helps me walk away. I'm happy between a few pounds below goal and goal, which is where I hover now. I've been thinking about powering it up again and dropping a bit more lately. I might see what I can do but I'm happy regardless.
Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.

Hello all! Happy Tuesday!
Thanks Bethmal for starting us off! Good luck on returning to work tomorrow!
Another busy day here, then early this evening, I am going to a neighborhood meeting with the local sheriff - a registered sex offender is moving in a few blocks away and he is described as being at high risk of re-offending, so I want to be aware of things. Such a dilemma for our society - what to do with people who have served their time but who statistically still can have these terrible urges to harm others? Nobody wants this in their backyard, but if they are there, it's better to be aware. I just want to get the scoop.
I'd been stalled at exactly the same weight for the past 7 days, then today am up .4 lb., to exactly what I weighed 8 days ago. Boo! I did switch out lunch and my snack yesterday for some shrimp (just those tiny salad shrimp, nothing else). I had quite a bit. My calories for the day were higher too by quite a bit, clocking in at 703 (I normally stay under 650), with a ton of protein - 134 grams, which is much more than usual, and with higher sodium as well. Oh well! A few weeks ago I had a similar stretch of no loss, slight gain, slight loss, holding steady - it was a little frustrating, but it was followed by an almost 10 pound loss the following week. So I am just hanging in there and today's caloric total won't be over 650, plus it will be lower in sodium.
Anyway, I weighed in at 155.8 today. Hopefully soon I will be at 153.6 (officially the 200# down point), and then, Oh Happy Day, my entry into the 140s! It's got to happen, my intake is very careful normally, and I haven't made any really poor choices at all with carbs, sugars, or alcohol. So onward! The day I enter the 140s I will celebrate somehow - not sure how, but will be such a personal milestone for me, and cause for real joy! I'm not there yet but I am determined!
I bought myself my first ever pair of leggings, which came yesterday. I got a pair that are described as slimming - they say they will take 1" or more off of your waist. I bought them in a size medium, but I suspect that may be the wrong size. They looked impossibly small right out of the package, but once on there was a lot of extra material on my legs and the waist band came up well over my natural waist - almost to my bra. They overall just seemed as if they might be too big. But since I have never worn leggings before, it was hard for me to tell, and I couldn't really see how I looked from behind in them either. From the front they looked okay. I wore them out last night but was self-conscious about how they were on my thighs. I kept pulling them up as there was a good amount of extra fabric there. Never having worn them before, I found it hard to tell if I looked okay or not. I had taken the tags off or I would probably send them back for a size exchange. They probably looked fine but if I buy another pair from that same site I will try sizing down. Or else I will just stick to slim straight-leg pants, which I feel look good on me, on the days I am not wearing skirts or dresses.
QOTD: Other than taking along something to an event which is ok for me to eat, I don't have any real tips. On Thanksgiving i will allow myself a vegetable side or two, like green beans (not that ubiquitous green bean casserole though!), but mostly will concentrate on the turkey. I won't have potatoes or stuffing, but will have a little gravy. I will however probably have a half flute of good champagne, sipped slowly. Ditto for Christmas, whatever the main event meat-wise will be. I will probably have both Christmas dinner and Thanksgiving at my daughter-in-law's grandmother's magnificent house, along with her huge family. I will bring some sort of contribution to the appetizer selection that is ok for me and attractive to others. The last time I saw them all together was on Easter. I hope I don't have to field any probes about how much I've lost, a question I dislike. But I will practice a cheerful non-answer response just in case I'm queried!
First: tea with that amazing Torani SF Salted Caramel syrup - wow is all I can say! Who needs sugar with a treat like that!
B: ham with smoked gouda
L: tuna
D: I'm going to try having an omlette. I have been very slow to add eggs in post-op. I've had them deviled a few times but not scrambled or as an omlette. Hope I will handle it well!
Keeping calories today under 650, protein over 60, liquids over 100.
Have fun today, my fellow RnYers!

I love the salted caramel syrup in coffee but I've never had it in tea. Curious - Which do you prefer? The salted caramel tea with milk and sweetener or regular tea with milk and salted caramel syrup?
Legging should be fitted (snug but stretchy/comfy). Maybe they will shrink in the wash?

Oh I go all the way, Amy! I like the salted caramel tea with milk and that syrup! Just so good! I'm going to make up a batch of cold brewed coffee for myself. I love coffee still, but was finding it too acidic. Looking forward to trying it that way!
Thanks for the leggings tip. I hope they will shrink a bit in the wa****he fit is really rather strange as is!
