I'll get us started this morning. It is my last day off and I think I am feeling well enough to return to work tomorrow. I thought I would bounce back easier but that has not been the case. Anyway, onwards and upwards!

QOTD: The holidays are coming up. What is your best piece of advice you have or have been given as to not derail in your weight loss journey? Being new to the game, I am going to say my goal is to continue to drink my water so that I don't get bloated and keep things moving.

Accountability: I had one scoop of sugar-free chocolate ice cream last night (didn't eat it all made my belly feel sick.)

B: overnight oats

S: PP chocolate shake

L: turkey and swiss roll-ups with mustard

D: Swedish meatballs

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Morning. I'm heading to work late, I have a doctor appointment.

Qotd: best approach to the holidays is to remember there are only 3 actual holidays. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Everyday in between is typical. Party it up on the days- one (or three) will not derail you- celebrating the entire season absolutely will.

Hi! I noticed that you are having FF cottage cheese. Just some unsolicited advice, I do much better with some fat in my diet and when I don't get enough my skin gets horribly dry so you may want to keep an eye on that. I am not sure if your plan has you monitoring fat content, mine does not.

Thanks for keeping an eye out for me. I appreciate it! I normally buy low fat, but last week with my calories creeping up, I thought that would be a place to cut some cals. Alas, I dont like the fat free and will be going back to low fat. And really, the carbs sneaking in were more the problem, lol. I have 8 tablespoons of half and half every day ( for tea) and my plan does want me to stay under 40 grams a day. Not sure if that is reasonable to others plans?

Again, advice is always appreciated!

I always hesitate when giving advise because I never want it to come across negatively (unless someone specifically asks a question of course). My plan was never specific about carb count so I did just try to stay as low as possible and during the losing phase I usually ended around 50 for the day (usually due to milk/yogurt type of things). Another thing about fat in dairy, for me I feel more satiated and stay full longer with the higher fat items.

Hi all

QOTD: I would say planning- at events offer to bring something you can eat- focus on meats, then veg. Generally this worked for me during the holiday season. I did have 2 days of poor eating which were Christmas day and the day after- then all the goodies left the house.

Today DH and I carpooled to work. it was cute. I packed him a lunch of a grilled cheese sandwich, pork rinds, a cookie, and some fiber one bars and soda. oh so healthy lol.

I'm having:

Coffee

Coffee

water

chicken thighs with tomato curry and spinach

protein pancakes

not sure on dinner but I think we will eat on the way home then i will leave and go to the gym since I missed yesterday. I did walk for 35 minutes at work though during lunch to get steps in.

Good morning! How are you all today? We are supposed to get the remnant rain from Hurricane Florence today, but right now it is sunny, warm and humid.

I am almost back to this time zone already and only have clean clothes to put away which makes me feel quite organized after 2 weeks of moving about constantly. My eating and drinking were on target yesterday, so I hope to be able to continue that through the week. My plan is to hold off weighing until Monday. I've found that after trips if I am really disciplined about my eating for a time period about 50% long as my trip before weighing myself that I am generally back to pre-trip weight at that point.

QOTD: Before going to a holiday event, plan what you will eat ahead of time. If you are bringing food, bring something safe for you to eat. In other words, even if you are assigned to bring cookies also bring something like veggies to munch on or shrimp (I have found that everyone is always happy to see shrimp). If you are going out to dinner, review the menu ahead of time and make a smart choice. Choose a protein based dish and eat the protein in essentially the same portion as usual (I feel it is okay to eyeball it since this is not an every meal, every day of the week situation). Allow yourself a bite or two of some special foods so you don't feel deprived, but don't go overboard. Accept that this is okay, but MOST IMPORTANT: Get back to your usual eating routine the next day. Regardless of how successful you were with your eating at the event, don't reflect on that, just eat on plan the next day as you have learned how to.

Accountability: 100% on target in my post-vacation eating. My menu below is essentially the same as yesterday's.

2 Years, 5.5 months post-op (maintaining below goal for 21.5 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Chicken

D: Shrimp

S: meat stick

Good morning. My knee is hurting today. I'm hoping its just a bit sore and not a gout attack. I have read that in the first month after surgery gout attacks can be more common that pre-surgery and then the likelihood of an attack goes down dramatically. Keeping my fingers crossed.

QOTD: Way to early for me to be giving advice but one thing that I have done is to try and focus on decorations this year so I am not focused on food and drink.

Breakfast: Refried beans with Mozzerella

Snack: Greek yogurt

Lunch: Premier

Snack: Greek yogurt, SF pudding

Dinner: Deli Turkey and American cheese

Have a great day all

Good Morning! I am glad you are on starting to feel better and I hope your last day before you head back to work is restful.

QOTD: I don't really do anything different around the holidays-I try and plan ahead. If I know we are going to a party I try and eat ahead of time and carry snacks with me (a small of almonds or something like that).

B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Quest BBQ chips, carbmaster yogurt and an iced latte bar.

D: TJs turkey burger, mashed cauliflower with butter and shredded cheddar cheese, sliced fruit, and 2 squares dark chocolate

ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and ¼ cup fiber cereal

E: 6 miles ran this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track
