What's on your Wednesday Menu RNY'ers?

Good Morning all,

I usually stick with Tylenol and Tea when I'm not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon.

B1 - Greek Yogurt

B2 - half a hard boiled egg and a turkey sausage link

L - Chicken breast and veggies

D - taco meat with salsa and raw veggies

S - Collagen Protein shake at bedtime to help with hair loss, skin elasticity and gut health. I'm starting to drink one at bedtime each night now. They aren't super tasty but is something I need so I just shake and drink it down.

Exercise - Walk at lunch, 2 miles+ on treadmill tonight (jog/walk mix), and Body Pump Upper Body - didn't do this last night as my sister and I rode bike for 10 miles. It was a beautiful night and an awesome work out. Still met my calorie burn goal for the day - over 1000.

do you think the collagen protein helps? I hadn't heard/read about that one yet. Hair will grow back, though (and not everyone loses it - I didn't - so you may be lucky).

I agree with Catwoman. Collagen protein is not absorbed well by the body and does not provide a good source of usable protein. Also there is very little evidence that the collagen will prevent hair loss or speed up regrowth. It won't hurt you but is pretty much useless calories. If you want more protein, make a protein shake that contains all Whey Isolate protein and has only 1 or 2 g of carbs (Syntrax Nectar and Isopure have lots of flavors).

Another day full of grown up stuff. Okay, not really full...2 appointments. One with my podiatrist to see if the cortisone shot worked (it didn't). And the second is with the financial planner. Plenty of time still for quilting. Really I am only pouting because the timing of the second appointment means I can'****ch the Red Sox game. I might have to be sneaky with watching the scores on my phone at least.

Also I have been stuck at 209 for 3 weeks now. I am ready for the scale to move again!

Qotd: I cannot stand having my sleep messed with. I will take nyquil if I am even slightly under the weather just to make sure I get quality zzzz's. During the day I am much more able to cope and stick with a ginger honey tea recipe I got in Hawaii. Unless my sinuses are actually causing copious amounts of pain I tough out waking hours. On this topic, Flu shot for me tomorrow!

Accountability: I didn't eat any of the things I planned for in the morning. I met all the goals and did well. But when it came time to eat, nothing sounded good.

Bf: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice Dave's killer bread powerseed thin, 1t margarine, 1t sugar free preserves

MS: babybel, 1/2 oz pork rinds

L: 4oz siggi's yogurt, 37g Julian's bakery pro granola

AS: premier protein shake

D: 1 cup chicken taco soup

Goals: 15 minutes hula hoop exercise, 1hour treadmill, 1000 calories, 85g protein, 100oz water, all vitamins.

Sorry you had to be at the hospital Peach; it's so easy to get sick there! Hope you and your sis are on the mend soon!

QOTD - I used to live on the alka seltzer cold and flu night time when I had a cold; I was never one for taking meds during the day so just focused on the night; will have to find somethin new. For non-medicine based feeling better, I would get Kiss My Face Cold and Flu body wash/bath gel and retreat to the bathroom, stuff towels under the door, leave the fan off and run it under the hottes****er I could stand. My cheap version of a eucalyptus steam room, lol.

Accountability - made some swaps yesterday and ended up at 693/65/10 on a plan of 643/71/17 but most disappointing of all, I didn't make it to my 8pm pilates class. I was running errands around 5:30 and I felt like I literally hit a wall of exhaustion. It was crazy. Have all my stuff to go right from work to class today though.

Menu:

Coffee + half and half, black and herbal tea throughout the day

B - L&F Greek Key Lime

L - babybell and 3 oz peppered ham from the deli

D - cheedar cheese square and 3 oz London broil from the deli

Peach - sorry about your sis, hope she heals fast. Colds are a PIA!

Another day of me being up around 4:00 and getting tons of work done before a regular day starts. I'm liking my new schedule but I'm sure it won't last. In fact I noticed everyday I get up 1/2 hr later. Oh well, I'll take advantage of it as long as I can. The flip side is that I'm done for around 8:00 pm.

QOTD: I haven't had a cold since surgery last year. So I have no idea what I would do. Knock on wood so far so good.

Accountability: had some unplanned grapes.

Sorry you're not feeling "peachy" but hope you will soon. Glad your sister is home.

QOTD I take zyrtec and singulair daily for allergies so the only thing I add for colds is tylenol and flonase.

So yesterday I went to Walmart and the cupboard was bare! I did get some canned meats and milk and some baby wipes. No batteries or water, so I just bought a couple of totes to wash out and fill up with potable water. Will fill bathtub with more water for everything else. After Dh has his dr appt, he's going to buy generator. We've been saying we need one because living at the lake, when power goes out, we are low on the list for restoral since there are fewer customers impacted there. May not have to worry, but better prepared than not.

Yesterday cals 1260, protein 98, carbs 79, fat 51. What the what??? Geez. Today B 1st tea with half and half then a boiled egg then 2nd egg white only, mini box of raisins. L tuna salad. D TBD. Snacks Turkey breast, non fat cottage cheese, tea.

Glad you are preparing for the worst and that you will have a generator. Swinging chicken that you don't have too much damage or flooding.
