What's on your Wednesday Menu RNY'ers?
Originally we were supposed to get lots of rain and wind. It is currently tracking further south so we will get less. We've had a lot of rain this year though so we are already saturated and any more will cause flooding. Bought my water and batteries in case any falling trees take out power.

morning everyone!
I am feeling great today...I had my Physical therapy evaluation last night for my back and the therapist did a bunch of calculations and measurements and evaluated my range of motion, etc...and it turns out my pelvic bone is shifted forward and up on the right and this is causing my hamstrings to tighten and probably overcompensate, which could be a large part of why I have such terrible hip pain and sciatica on the left! So she gave me a bunch of stretching and strengthening exercises to do...I did them last night before bed and OMG they felt sooo good LOL...I think I really need to try yoga or pilates or something...a lot of my muscles are just really tight I think!
QOTD: when I have a cold/flu I usually just take tylenol if I feel achey, but if I get super congested I need to take a decongestant otherwise I usually end up with an ear infection due to a lot of built up scar tissue from many ear surgeries as a young child, so I will sometimes just take sudafed or like claritin D...and if I have a cough too I'll go straight for the mucinex. Yes, it makes me feel weird and drowsy but it's better than feeling like death! LOL
B: cinnamon vanilla nut coffee w/sugar free creamer, light & fit greek yogurt
L: leftover turkey taco salad (about 1/3C taco meat with black beans, 1C lettuce, 3 cherry tomatoes, 4 olives, 1/4oz cheddar cheese and 1tbsp sour cream w/hot sauce)
D: crab, bacon and pea salad
Have a great day everyone!

If you decide to seek out a pilates class, try to find a restore class -- it's 100% focused on stretching and it's like a massage! I've also done some of the assisted stretching at massage envy and it helps a lot with my tightness.

I'll look into it, thanks for the tip!...I think I am going to look for some videos maybe since I am not currently able to find any classes that work into my schedule, but I love the feeling of the stretching exercises...I think I'd really like it!

I'd do yoga for sore/tight muscles. Or at least at first. In Pilates, you work the muscles in the core, so they're likely to be even more sore at first. Although I suppose after awhile it might help with that. Yoga is great from the start, though - esp if you choose a gentle form. I really miss it (hoping to be cleared for exercise soon!! Although I'm guessing I'll have to wait awhile longer on weights and Pilates - too hard on my scalpeled abs!! I would think he might clear me for yoga soon, though...)
yes! I am going to look for some videos on youtube or something---my only concern is that I can't analyze my own body positioning so I won't really know if I am doing the poses correctly and I don't want to injure myself more...I'll stick to beginners stuff for now I think though, and hopefully I'll be OK.

Have a great one!
Good morning everybody. I was able to get enough protein from my pureed foods yesterday that I only had 1 and 1/2 Premiers. I'm working from home today just to break up my first week back. I told my assistant about my surgery yesterday so she knows not to get me lunches at our weekly meetings. I think it will be more convenient for me if certain people know. On the other hand, I don't want to talk to 50 people a day about it either. So taking it slowly.
QOTD: Usually just rest and liquids.
Breakfast: Ricotta
Snack: Greek Yogurt
Lunch Premier
Snack: Cottage cheese, SF popsicle
Dinner: Broth and 1/2 Premier
Have a great day.
