so far, I'm not finding any recipes that use any sweetener. A few put the spices in plain Greek yogurt and marinate the meat - most use the spices as a dry rub (no yogurt or marinade), so I think you're OK....

I get chicken shawarma a lot when I'm at Middle Eastern restaurants. I try to avoid the rice, the pita, and limit my hummus to a couple of tablespoons (it's healthy but high in calories). But things like shawarma and kebobs should be fine.

Good to know - thanks for the research! I'll be skipping the pita and rice but will have a little hummus -it's so good!

Oh I know - I could probably eat a cup of it in one sitting if I'm not monitoring myself!!

QOTD: If I didn't have WLS I wouldn't have gone to France or Hawaii - I would never have considered long trips because I would have needed to buy 2 expensive seats, and I wouldn't have met a lot of great friends. Both online and IRL. I wouldn't love exercising and hiking to name a few things as well.

Food?

Usual latte and overnight oats.

Made Lobster salad yesterday that was amazing so I am going to stop and buy more lobsters while they are $5.99/lb. Not sure if the actual eating will happen today.

poached eggs and grits

eggroll in a bowl with chicken

Protein drinks, and pre-workout either greek yogurt w/chopped nuts or protein bar.

ex: gym. includes running today. Challenging myself to go faster after my fall off the treadmill I've been skittish.

I'm trying today without the Tylenol. I think it should be fine. Continuing to have an aura of working from home while my group is at the offsite meeting. Yesterday I drove for the first time. I went to the hospital pharmacy to buy an extra bag of chewable Calcium to keep in my office in case I forget to pack them with lunch.

Breakfast Premier Protein

Lunch Broth

Snack SF Popsicles

Dinner Premier Protein

QOTD: I was going to say "way too early to say" but thinking about it, I'm actually off of a few medicines already

Have a good day.

Lucky, most WLSers have to order online their bags of chewable calcium citrate. What brand name chewable calcium citrate does your pharmacy carry?

Hi - they are Celebrate caramel flavored Calcium 500. You would not find Chicago traffic worth the access to chews.

Good morning. Vacay is officially over. Ugh.

QOTD probably headed towards death. Already was insulin dependent.

Accountability over long weekend? None. I didn't log anything, but did make sure I had proteins and vitamins. Also had a piece of toast one breakfast and an half piece of toast but that had jelly on it. Yesterday I had saltines. So....back on track today. B 1st tea with half and half then a boiled egg and white of 2nd egg then more tea. L tuna pouch with no sugar pickles and light mayo. D is fellowship meal at church and will make a smart choice. Snack canned white chicken.

Have a good hump day!

Morning, all! Happy Wednesday!

Thanks Peach for starting us out!

It was cool enough here yesterday to wear tights! I love this weather! Busy today making lip balms, etc. I like to make things! Bought myself a gorgeous tall pair of cream colored boots! Now that really is it on the boot buying. I have more than enough!

QOTD: I don't know where I'd be. I may have struggled to lose weight one more time, I might even be down as much as 100 pounds or so, just barely hanging onto that diet by my fingernails before yet another failure. Or, even more likely, I might still be gaining, eating many thousands of calories per day, making ice cream my best friend and confidante, on my sad way to being buried in a piano crate. It's a truly sobering thought. I do know for sure that I would not be feeling the joy and pleasure and freedom and most of all the incredible increase in fundamental mobility that I am so loving today!

First: 38 ounces of delicious tea!

B: salmon

L: ham with smoked gouda

D: more salmon

S: yet more wild caught Alaskan salmon! That wonderful fish is so good and so high in protein!

Wishing you all a moment of absolute tenderness today!

"buried in a piano crate" - OMG - I used to have similar worries! Not about being buried in a piano crate, but of not fitting into a crematory. I figured they might have to ship my body across the country to a place that had a crematory that accommodated larger-sized bodies. Horrors!!
