if I didn't have WLS, I would be on 4 different meds, struggling daily with PCOS and a major self image issue.

Ok quickie for me- class about to start.

food for today

coffee

coffee

water

tyson frozen chicken nuggets (my mom had these in the freezer)

not sure what else

Accountability- my mom wanted dinner last night then informed me she made peach cobbler the other day and blah blah- I had one tiny bite to appease her- I'm trying but she is a food pusher....

plans after work- need to wash the car- go to the gym. Maybe I can do both at the same time? i will try to see if I can call them today.

Morning everyone!

I have 2 days left of the steroid dosepak my Spine doc gave me for my sciatica and it doesn't seem to be doing the trick...It may have helped a little, but I feel like as soon as I fini**** it's just going to get worse again...not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic. I couldn't get an appointment for the physical therapy eval until the 11th, so I will have to wait for that...just hoping I could get the pain down more manageable before starting that. I guess only time will tell.

QOTD: if I didn't have weight loss surgery, I would still be miserable, depressed, tired all the time, on the verge of developing several obesity related diseases, unmotivated and feeling incredibly guilty all the time for not taking care of myself for my family and my daughter.

B: Coffee w/half caramel PP, greek L&F pumpkin pie yogurt
L: buddig turkey pack, light string cheese and caprese salad
D: thai peanut pork w/stir fry veggies

Have a wonderful day everyone!

I don't know if you are aware of this... Obviously if you needed to take them you should, but steroids are on the list of medications we should avoid if possible. Like NSAIDS increases the possibilities of ulcers. As someone with asthma, not something easy to avoid, although I did until this year. My surgeons office always recommends you be on a PPI (like Prilosec/omeprezole) while on it and for a couple of weeks after. I take a PPI all the time, so that is a moot point. Not meant to scare you, just information....

Thanks! and yes, I know...I did call my surgeon's office before starting the meds because I remembered reading that, and they did tell me it's not usually recommended but since my spine doc doesn't want to do the injections before trying oral meds, and Tylenol does nothing, they just put me back on a PPI while I am taking the steroid pack and monitoring closely for any gastric discomfort.
if this doesn't work and PT doesn't help, next step is steroid injections, which the surgeon's office did say were not an issue.
