Morning RNY'ers! Nothing new in my world. Work, family, sleep, exercise-- the saga continues.

Qotd: Hmmm. Let's be on topic today. Finish this sentence: If I didn't have weight loss surgery I'd_______.

Me: If I didn't have WLS I'd still be taking bloods pressure meds because of 'family history'-- not my weight, hoping this doctors visit wouldn't be the one I was put on diabetes medication, and avoiding the scale because 'no news is good news'. Denial at it best folks!

No weight yet- not up, 3.4 years out

M1: egg, cheese stick, Ham

M2: Greek yogurt & berries

M3: bbq chicken and an apple

M4: Shrimp scampi for the family- just shrimp for me

Good morning.. Quick post today as I am headed to a branch office for meetings and I have a two hour drive... Yippee.

QOTD... I would be spending my life inactive, unhappy, I think just overall unhappy.

Food for the day:

B: pepperoni cheese and ice tea

The rest of the clue I have no idea as I am running but it will be protein forward.

Have a great day...

I'd be dead.

This is the end of my day. Completed day 5 without sugar. It just leads to so many other wonderful things.

I ate greek yogurt with all bran, ham, egg, peanut butter, and some really good grapes. And a whole lot of cold brew. I'm getting the "recipe" down. I'm down to 1 cup of milk/day and a total fluid intake over 100 oz of fluids.

I do 72-90g of coffee (1 cup to 1 1/4 cups) depending how long I have to brew it in 1/2 gallon of water. I grind my own beans in the blender if the store doesn't have a grinder.

For me it really helps my acid. Huge. Also bought decaf espresso beans so if I want coffee later in the day I have a separate batch of decaf.

My only regular milk which is high protein Fairlife is my morning latte. Otherwise I use cashew milk and an occasional splash of heavy cream.

I didn't realize that cold brewing would significantly reduce the acid in coffee! it's the acid I've been avoiding, and I can feel it when I drink more than a small cup. Having had a hiatal hernia repair, I don't want to push that limit. But coffee without acid sounds rather wonderful! Hmmm, I think I am going to have to try this!

They say it reduces up to 70%, also darker roasts have less acid. You need to coarse grind it.

Yes! I've started drinking darker roasts because of that. It's taking me awhile to get used to the more intense flavor, but they're definitely easier on my stomach. I'm guessing they don't have to process the beans as much as the lighter roasts? Not sure..
