when you do have enough saved up for PS, go with a surgeon who does a crap ton of body contouring for massive weight loss patients, or better yet, someone who specializes in it. Even my bariatric surgeon admitted he's seen a lot of crappy work. Almost all general plastic surgeons say that they do it, but it's a challenging specialty - so go for someone who does them *all the time*, not just a handful of times a year. It doesn't sound like these surgeons fit that criteria. I'm not familiar with west coast surgeons since I live in the Midwest, but check sources like realself for names just to get started...or ask for recommendations on the PS forum here on OH.

The PS I saw last month was a post bariatric specialist - that's ALL he does and he does great work, just very $$. I really want my arms and breast lift done by him when the $ and time is right. I was thinking maybe I could live without any lower body surgery - the most expensive anyway...then thought a panni covered by insurance would be better than nothing? Originally I believed I wouldn't just do the panni because of the possible 'off' results (I've seen some pictures) I was feeling disappointed, somewhat desperate and reaching.... I am taking a break and will figure it out - the skin isn't going anywhere!

hi - sorry - I didn't pick up on the fact he does these all the time. That's definitely the kind of surgeon you want, then! I was also considering a couple of surgeons in Mexico and went as far as getting a quote from Dr. Sauceda. About a third to half of what I was getting quoted here - but in the end, I wasn't really comfortable venturing too far from home in case there were issues.

Oh, sorry for the confusion - the PS I saw last month was a post bariatric specialist. My WLS who I saw on Friday only does the panni.

Seeing what I can do myself is where I'm at also. Knowing you're seeing results and got your booty back by working out is motivating me - mine is flat as a pancake now.

Mine too, and how bizarre that is, considering! I am going to try to build it back up, but am not sure where to start. I'd wait until I'm in maintenance anyway, but it will be necessary. My back now just goes pretty much straight down to my thighs! It really is strange!
