Exclusion for bariatric but medically necessary?

Hello. I was sleeved in May 2017. Self pay.

i have been living with awful reflux that is only getting worse by the day. I am having a bravo test in a few weeks.

Ive tried various PPI's with no change, including dexilant. However my insurance has an exclusion for bariatrics.

Is there any way to get them to cover it since it would be because of the reflux? I'm absolutely miserable and searching for a cash pay option for bypass as well.

Id love to know if anyone has had any luck with this type of issue.

Others have gotten a revision done for gerd, even though WLS was excluded. Youll likely need a good surfeons office that knows how to fight with insurance on your behalf.

Have you had an endoscopy recently to document the damage and to see if you have a hiatal hernia?
