Here's a sheet with the ASMBS guidelines linked on it that I made up a while ago.
I meet these with two generic adult multi's a day (from Walgreen's), plus extra iron and calcium. I buy my vitamins in bulk when they do the big "buy one get one free" sales and they're not very expensive.
You don't need bariatric vitamins. Generic adult multis can be very cheap. I got the CVS brand BOGO at 13 bucks for two 365 pill containers. Calcium, B12, and D3 can be had for 20-30 per month.
Sure, vitamins are a new expense th at we didn't have before surgery. But I look at it this way: one month's worth of supplements costs me the same as 3 trips through a fast-food drive-thru.
You'll spend a lot less on vitamins than you have been spending on excess food.
