What's on your Saturday Menu RNY'ers?
everyone must be sleeping in! I've been on my run, did some yard work and dressed. I'm debating breakfast right now.
Today I have a few errands and we'd like to grill to say 'goodbye' to summer. It's mostly overcast though and spotty showers at times. We'll make the best of it.
Qotd: if you had a stock pile of $ and could get plastic surgery- what would you get done? I would get my arms and tummy done. The arms offend me more- cause 'side fat' creates this awful spillover on my left side for bras, I'm constantly shifting and rearranging to make it look less muffin-topish. My tummy I'd mainly be interested in doing to see what size pants I'd end up wearing.

Good Morning, Peach! Sorry we posted at the same time. Great minds think alike.
I'll answer your QOTD: I'd love to get my arms lifted. I have really saggy skin on my upper arms and I always have to wear sleeves that come to the elbows. I'd also get my inner thighs lifted as I have a lot of saggy skin there. My stomach is not too bad, but if I still had money, I'd get a tummy tuck, too. Heck, as long as we're dreaming, I'd get my eyelids lifted, too as they are starting to be a bit droopy.
Happy Labor Day weekend in the US! It is the unofficial "end of summer" in tourist areas like Cape Cod. It will be busy this weekend, but we leave for the airport just after lunch (flight to Scotland at 5:30 pm). We are essentially packed - now I'm worrying about whether I forgot anything... I don't know when I'll be posting - maybe daily, maybe not at all. But I'll be back in a couple of weeks regardless.
QOTD: I was lucky to have been able to afford PS for the worst stuff. BUT if I had more $ I might get a breast lift/implants, butt lift, arms done.

Bon Voyage! I have friends spending two months in Scotland right now, and loving every minute! Have a fabulous trip! It's a wonderful time to travel. My kiddo and my DIL leave for Paris today, then Berlin, then the island where his paternal grandparents lived, then Copenhagen!

QOTD - Arms, breast lift, LBL - in that order. If I could only get one it would be arms. That surgery would give me the most satisfaction, confidence and freedom.

Mornin' All!
a friend texted me last night and said she fell in the water Wednesday morning and broke her femur. Holy cats - I can't imagine! She had surgery and is in the hospital - she'll be moved to a rehab place on Tuesday. She said the pain is horrendous. I can only imagine! Her mother is there now and will be all weekend, but DH and I will stop by, too. I wonder what she's going to do with her cats (one is diabetic and needs insulin shots every day). She could be laid up for months. I can't really take the cats - I'm hoping her mom takes them back to Iowa. I could go over to the apt every day, but potentially we're talking months...and I think the one cat gets insulin twice a day. Maybe she can line up several friends to rotate cat duty, but I don't know how many people she knows who could do that. Fingers crossed her mother will take them. Taking care of a diabetic cat means I can never leave town - and I have follow up appts in Chicago and surgery scheduled for early December. And DH can't/won't give cats shots - I always get to do the deed when it's one of ours (luckily, none of ours have every been diabetic, so shot-giving has been a temporary thing...)
QOTD: I had an LBL and am having an arm and breast lift in December. I have jiggly skin on my thighs, but they're very thin, so I haven't really thought about doing them. It's not like I'm going to ever wear short shorts or mini skirts at my age. Maybe I'd do my face & neck. I'm sometimes shocked how old I look when I see photos of myself (although to be honest, I probably look my age now - when I was SMO, I always looked younger)
3 years 2 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt with fresh raspberries
MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein vanilla pumpkin chai tea shake
L: at hospital - I have a protein bar with me - or maybe I'll grab something at the hospital cafeteria
AS: protein pumpkin pie or protein pudding
D: probably an ear of corn and some chicken breast
It occurred to me after I posted this that because of my LBL surgery, I have limits on how much weight I can lift, and how much bending over I can do, for 60 days after surgery. It's only been three weeks. So even if i was gungho about cat care, there'd only be so much i could do. Scooping litter boxes and picking up heavy cats would be out, for example. I'll just hope her mother will take the cats...
