What's on your Photo Friday Menu RNY'ers?

Happy Friday - yay!! Half day at work, then I have an appt with my WLS for check up, skin check and blood test review. My PCP sent me the results. I tested positive for H.Pylori so I have a further test for that. I also am borderline for globulin - a protein not sure if this is indicative of a liver/kidney issue or fixable by upping my protein? On the other side, my ferritin was 164 (yay!) D was UP in the high normal range after being very low for years. My b12 is ridiculously high so I have to cut back more. I only take it 3x a week as it is. I can't seem to get my total cholesterol under 200 (217 -from a high of 250ish), but my ratio is 3.6 down from over 6.?, so yay! Everything else was good. I will discuss all of it with my surgeon today.
QOTD - I am the youngest of 6 - 3 boys, 3 girls - Think Brady Bunch and that was about us. And yes did we have the Marsha, Marsha, Marsha deal happening. My sisters were most definitely Marsha and Jan.
Accountability - I planned for 2 full servings of progranola yesterday and my body did not like that. Kelly warned me - all talk and no action down there... I will stick to my a.m. 1/2 serving. I drank over 200 ounces and peed my brains out all day and night. I'm positive I'm no longer retaining fluids!

Glad you got an update on your blood levels. What did you do to get your ferritin so high? I'd love to have levels like that! As for the cholesterol, alot of your level is heredity, not diet and there is very little that you can do other than eat healthy and take meds.
Have a great weekend!

I can't remember what my ferritin was pre op or last year - I will ask today. I don't think it was this high though. I have taken note of everyone's iron/ferritin plight and worried I would have the same issue. I have take baratric fusion cherry chews since surgery. After having issues with SA, I switched from all chew vitamins (multi, calcium and iron) to pills, but worried so much about the iron that I went back to the iron chew. The SA in just the one chew doesn't seem to bother me. Anyway - after seeing this number - I don't think I'll ever change it again.

Interesting...mine has always been low, even before surgery.

I just checked my history. It looks like they never did a baseline on me pre-surgery, but six months after surgery, it was 129. From there, it went up and up every time until it was just under 300 (last year). The PA at the bariatric clinic suggested I cut back on my oral iron, so I now take it five days a week instead of seven. It's 210 now. Evidently, my body really responds to oral iron (which is a good thing!). My iron level has always been good, too (normal ranges - not high like my ferritin) - hopefully it'll stay that way!
