Just wanted to mention that while roasted chicken is easy, it is REALLY dry and is hard to get down. It still can choke me up. Don't assume that you can't eat real food because you had problems with that. Just keep trying things that are more moist. I did well with chicken in the crockpot. Also lots of canned chicken, pouches of tuna and particularly salmon. Different people have different reactions to eggs, hard boiled or scrambled, but you might want to try those. Also if you have a Trader Joe's close to you, the frozen tuna, salmon and mahi mahi burgers were a good option early on for me. The nutrition is great, they were easy to cook in the microwave, and easy for me to digest. Just don't fall prey to the belief that you can live on carbs like mashed potatoes and applesauce. You need protein for your body to heal, lose fat and keep your muscle tissue.

Hang in there!

What a good looking boy Jake is! Sorry that chicken caused you pain. I definitely wouldn't have been able to eat rotisserie chicken just 10 days out without painful consequences, either. For a long time I stuck with shaved (not just thinly sliced, actually shaved) deli meats, which went down much easier. Give them a (cautious) try!
