No instant pot user here--am more the slow cooker type. QOTD: I just met a short-term goal this week: to find fresh-tasting walnuts. An Aldi's food store had good-tasting walnuts for under seven dollars per pound.

Good morning! Got some butternut squash cubed and canned last night, and remembered what a pain in the neck squash can be sometimes to cut and peel, so I only canned a couple of the squash. The rest will keep for roasting.

Qotd: short term goal is to clean this dang house! I feel like I've been so busy outside of the house that it's just gotten so cluttered up and dusty. I will tackle the house after the gym today.

breakfast: coffee with SF pumpkin spice creamer

lunch: leftover chicken stuffed pepper

snack: cucumber slices with hummus

dinner: turkey burger patty with cheese

probably a yogurt or protein shake in the evening

Morning friends... IT's humppppppppp day... I am looking forward to a three day weekend in the worst way... Was enjoying the quietness of my office until others just walked in...Oh well it was nice while it lasted.. Let the fun begin.

QOTD: I guess my short term goal would be to get on here and post everyday and be present.... I like doing it and I like staying connected with everyone and see different food ideas and you all are my group of friends who know where I have been, where I am at and where I am going better than anyone else so I need you all...

My food plan:

B: Peperoni stick and cheese stick

L: deli meat and salad

D: salad from Panera

S: grapes and cheese

I so need to be better about my food plan and get back to recording it all because that has also fallen to the wayside....

Friends enjoy the day!!

hi all back and at it-

I'm on crackdown mode for the next month- then reevaluate - strictly going back to basics I think. I ate too many protein bars, fried food? and sampled donuts on vacation. It was great (except for the 1 round of RH)now back to business.

I looked at myself in vacation pics and do not like what I saw- someone uncomfortable in her pants- literally. have to change that.

QOTD: meal planning will be a bigger chore for me starting next week. I'm going back into the office almost full time after 8 years away. there is a gym on site for quick exercise spurts and will plan my workout after work so that once I'm done rush hour (s) are done. Really actually stressing about this immensely. its a big deal to me.

I also have a goal to do a chin up/pull up sometime in next 2 months

I also have a goal to lose 10 pounds before dec (3 year anniv).

Food for today?

Coffee

vitamin water

lunch meat

tuna package

dinner may be that real good chicken pizza?

You got this!! I can imagine the stress you feel going back to the office full-time but at least you have a plan in place and a workout room on-site (I love that about my office building). Feel free to reach out if you need support during the transition.

Awww Hillary, that sounds stressful. I can relate on multiple fronts. First, I am also too big for my pants and stressing about how I let the regain in and how to lose it. Also, I work from home and would be hard-pressed to go back to a daily commute/office because I enjoy the flexibility. BUT, when I did go to an office, key for me was planning my meals, weighing them, packing them, and not forgetting them at home. Going to the gym to wait out rush hour is a great idea - just make sure you have a cheese stick or something so if you're ravenous after working out you don't stop for fast food or eat everything in sight once you hit the door. I know you can do this and we will be cheering you on!

I certainly understand the tension between working from home and working in the office. We have had varying amounts of telework available for the last few years but it is always in some jeopardy. I love the freedom to work at my own pace and in my own space when I work at home.

Working in the office is a hardship many times in my department. We work in a "cube farm" where there is no privacy, space or atmosphere to get good work done. Plus the commute when going into the office is horrendous whether I ride the train or drive. It just adds to the stress of getting the job done.

When I'm in the office, I really try to focus on the good things like the gym. I really have to make time to get away for a while at lunch and then to workout and have some ME time after work to wind down. Also make sure that you take your breaks and don't just sit at your desk all day!

HUGS! And we are here to listen and commiserate.

Big changes all at once but it sounds like you have a plan! Using the gym to avoid the traffic and Ger in a work out is brilliant!
