I was so sad when I had to leave the hospital still on my diabetes meds but was so excited to come off after my first dr visit. It just takes more time for some of us (and not everyone comes off them).

Next question folks. What's the difference between eating pureed food and eating soft food chewed really well? Yes I am serious.

I was cleared to start phase 2 but I am having an issue with eating the pureed stuff as in the consistency. Anyway has anyone just chewed their food really well instead of actually blending it. If you did were there any complications? Thanks for all the help.

I never had a pureed stage, but soft food was food that could be mashed with a fork ie, eggs, refried beans, well cooked veg etc.

NO firm lumps, heavy protein (meat) or firm veg would be my thought on soft.

I understand the consistency thing. I didn?t purée anything but stuck to things that were already that consistency - yogurt, eggs, ricotta bake, shredded and chopped deli meat and I was allowed string cheese in my purée stage for some reason. And protein shakes and protein shakes at that point. All approved on my surgical plan - at this point it?s rwally about the healing.

oh, and I did creamy type soup occasionally at this phase too
