yes - very! I am as well - it looks better every day! He said it looks like we'll need to do the vertical cut. He's really happy with the area on and near my hips - it's really tight, he said - but he doesn't like the fact there's still some loose skin higher up (he was able to lipo a fat pad under my ribs and thought that might do the trick, making the FDL cut unnecessary, but no - he thinks there's still too much lax skin up there, so he'll do the FDL cut in December when he does the BL and arm lift). I'm personally OK with what I have now (i look a zillion times better than before, and it'll keep getting better as the scars fade and the swelling goes down), but more of a cinched waist would be great - and I don't care at all about having a vertical scar. My bikini days are LONG over...

big surprise (to me, anyway) - I asked him if he was going to take my stitches out, and he said no - I didn't have any! (well, I'm sure I have some of those dissolving ones on the inside, but he used surgical glue on the outside). I had no idea people did that with PS, so I searched the plastic surgery forum on OH, and sure enough, some surgeons do it. I know this one does sutures, too, so maybe he does the glue on his out-of-town patients. Supposedly there's less risk of infection, and of course, no need to remove sutures. So more convenient for non-locals who either can't come to as many post-ops - or can't come to post-ops *at all*.

I was a little worried about scarring (with the glue), but I read a peer-reviewed article addressing sutures vs. glue on C-sections (which are probably close enough to abdominoplasties to compare). It said there's no discernible difference in scarring. Whew.

so anyway, he said the surgical tape and glue will come off on its own within the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to see what it looks like underneath all that!!

G'morning all!!

Busy, trying to finish all in progress tasks at work. I think I mentioned before that I'm leaving for Italy tomorrow. First to see my mom who suffered a heart attack about 3 weeks ago. Second because DD is starting her semester abroad in Florence - which is 45 minutes away from my hometown, Pisa. This way I meet the family she is staying with and the family sees that she has people in the area and not any American girl. Anyway excited about seeing my family, haven't seen then them since last Oct. In short I won't be posting for about 10-12 days.

QOTD: in our area we have Indian summer through the end of Oct - mid Nov and sometimes it's hotter than summer. Because honestly we get fog through our summer and it's kinda cool and tempered. But when it gets cooler during Nov-Dec I love the cardigans. In fact I kinda went crazy and bought 4-5 new ones during pre-fall sale. I love the long ones.

Accountability: great

B: Protein coffee

L: chicken skewers

S: Parmesan cheese

D: gotta finish the chicken skewers before I leave! :-)

Have a great 10-12 days. I'll miss you guys.
