Morning all! Jen, thanks for starting us off while you are on the right coast...

A miserable day here weatherwise. Heat index of 110, code orange air quality, lots of heat and humidity...ugh! Even though my asthma is mostly gone with losing weight and exercising, it was really hard to breathe this morning as I walked from the train. Glad I didn't have far to go.

Yesterday's exercise ended up being completely different. I have been trying to do weight work M-W-F but I was so hot and out of sorts as I got home yesterday, I just grabbed my swimsuit and went to the pool instead. I did laps for 70 minutes and just tried to relax and let the stress of life roll off. I did feel mostly better when I got home and definitely cooler! Unfortunately our family membership for the Aquatic and Fitness center is up in a few weeks and I am really struggling with whether I want to pay almost $700 for another year of membership when DW is going to be on disability and $$ will be tighter. I love it though and swimming is the one exercise that DW likes and doesn't seem to trigger her fibro. Much as I hate to, I am cancelling my membership at the kickboxing studio. I really enjoy it, but the cost is alot more than I can justify right now. I will spend that $$ to keep working with my trainer.

QOTD: I love the fall because there is less humidity and I can get out and hike and walk.

Menu:

B1: Isopure C&C protein shake w/iced coffee

B2: scrambled eggs, ham

S: chomps

L: fish

S: Buddig's turkey packet

D: leftover steak or hamburger

Exercise: I'd like to do my new kickboxing DVD after work, probably some indoor walks too

If you have amazon prime, you might find some good kickboxing videos streaming. They have a whole line of computer generated work outs -- at first I thought they were cheesy with the computer avatar and the artificial voice but now I like them!

I am glad you enjoyed your time swimming. I wonder if you could try and negotiate a lower rate for the membership, maybe talk to the manager about a "loyalty" discount or something...it couldn't hurt right (the worst case is they say no)?
