Mornin from Chicago! I have a post PS surgery follow up later on this morning. I hope this might involve taking out my stitches, but I'm not sure (they may be the dissolving ones for all I know. ,)
Accountability was pretty good yesterday, considering. I split an entree with my mother at a middle eastern place - then we each had a piece of sugar free baklava. I like it better than the regular kind - not as cloying.
Qotd: haven't been reading lately between all the stuff I've needed to get done, but I signed up for a book discussion at the end of September to force myself to start again (I can't former the name of the book they're reading for some reason)

Good morning! It was a hot weekend and full of rain as usual it seems. Again I laid there last night listening to the thunderstorm rock through.
I've had this summer cold, maybe brought on by swimming in the lake which happens a lot. Not sure if it's sinusitis or allergies to something on the water, or what. Stuffed up head, sneezing like crazy. Itchy eyes. It's fine, just annoying. Grrrrrrrrrr.....
Menu: Protein bar and a coffee for breakfast. I grabbed a couple small apples, so one on those might happen too.
Shakes for snacks, and a tuna fish spinach salad for lunch. Unknown supper.
QOTD: well I'm not really a regular reader but I like stuff like Lord of the rings, and I get into my bible. I tend to read in bursts of interest though. If something really grabs me I'll read it but I'm not avid about it.
Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.

Oh, if you like LOTR, you might like my favorite series - next time you are looking for something to read, check out Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb, it's the first in a lengthy series, but each segment is done in a complete trilogy (and the whole series was finished last year).

Good morning Peach and menu group! I am STRUGGLING this morning. Woke up feeling like I didn't sleep at all, but according to my Fitbit I was in a dead coma most of the night (lots of deep and light sleep), but I had very little REM. Maybe that's why? Sleep is kind of interesting to me and I check my sleep analysis every morning if I wore my Fitbit to sleep.
qotd: I just recently finished Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik and it was amazing. It's a retelling of Rumpelstiltskin set in old Russia, the main character is the daughter of a Jewish money lender. So there's some realism mixed with a very whimsical fairy tale narration. I'm in love and can't wait to read her other book, Uprooted.
I harvested 8 lbs of pickling cucumbers yesterday and canned 7 pints of sweet pickle relish. I also made 12 4 oz jelly jars of jalapeño jelly that I will give out as gifts. I harvested 8 HUGE butternut squash and I plan on cubing and canning a lot of that for quick use this winter. The squash will keep for a long time as is, so I'll leave a couple for roasting, but I don't have the space to store that many unless they're canned so I can keep them in the cupboard. My zucchini are dying back so I'll pull them up in the next few weeks, but I had a few new baby zucchini's so I'm holding off a bit :) my peppers are heavy with fruit, and my tomatoes are loaded too, so I'm sure there will be more canning in the next month. Spaghetti sauce, stewed tomatoes, salsa, pickles peppers...
