Can I kick anyone that called you sad for being here in the shins for you? As a newer member of the club, I very much appreciate being able to hear the good and the bad from everyone that has already been there. I hope to stay engaged as much and as long as everyone that I'm learning from now has been. It's important to help those that follow behind us as much as we can!

I think what Citizen Kim said shines a lot of light on the regain issue. A lot of people talk about "bounce back" weight in year 2, 3, or 4 (generally), but what I have learned from reading these forums is that it can happen at any time. There is no point at which you are "safe" - unless you continue your healthy habits. There are lots of people that regain in years 2-4, but I think that has to do more with what Grim said (diet fatigue) than anything magical about those years. Some folks has regained and lost many times (as Citizen Kim mentioned), some people maintain for 10+ years then regain.

It's that knowledge that keeps me hyper vigilant. I'd love to think that once I got to year "X", I would be "safe", but that's a fallacy. I just need to stay unrelentingly focused for the remainder of my life and adhere to the lifestyle that has been successful for me thus far.

Yes to all of this. I've even seen people get diet fatigue and start to regain at 6 months.
