Sorry your kitty had a rough night and hope all is okay. When Twinkie has been like that in the past she was suffering a urinary tract infection so I think she was uncomfortable. We started watching her, and she would go to her litter box, go in, dig around, squat and get back out.

Thanks, Kelly! Our big boy is indoor/outdoor and doesn't have a litter box (unless you can call our raised planters in the back yard a litter box - and I do) so I wouldn't be able to tell that way. Rob says he was pretty fussy after I left but has been sleeping most of the day. I guess I will wait to see how he is tonight.

Mia started behaving in a restless and agitated way at night and meowing very loudly when her vision was seriously on the brink of blinking out altogether. I didn't realize that she was going blind for quite some time, as cats are extremely adaptive and hide pain and physical limitations as much as possible, as a survival tactic. The vet had no idea had no idea why she was crying and agitated. Finally it became crystal clear that she could barely see. I started leaving lights on at night for her which helped calm her down for a while. Now it makes no difference, as she is completely and profoundly blind, and almost entirely deaf as well, poor girl. She hears me talking to her only if I am right next to her, and even then she cannot locate me, she only senses i am somewhere nearby. She is able to hear me clap loudly, which I do if I am in a different room and she begins wailing. She follows the sound of the clapping, more or less, though she is constantly bumping into walls, the piano, etc. Poor little girl!

Awww Mia! Or Corgi is completely blind and walks into everything, poor girl. I'm not sure what's up with Bubs, but I will take a closer look tonight.

This morning it looked like really thick fog but it wasn't it was actually smoke. Today is supposed to be cooler and maybe the smoke will clear a little bit. Tired of having really bad air quality, I haven't even mowed my lawn because I didn't want to be outside that long. I also wonder if my sinus infection might have been caused by the smoke?

QOTD: 1. Be financially secure enough to retire SOON, and help my BFF who is 76 and still working. 2. Travel to all of the places on my "TO GO" list. 3. Good health, a long life and weight in the "normal" range for the rest of it.

I actually weighed myself today and was down a pound! Good start to the day and it's Thursday. I was working out in my dream, does that count?

Have a great day everyone! Glad to hear your brother is doing better and great on your a1c.

Morning all and happy Thursday. I went to dinner last night with friends and it was definitely not on plan, but all in all, not too bad. First, before I left the office, a co-worker handed me egg yolks from his afternoon snack. He knows about my blood sugar issues, knew I was going to dinner, said he assumed I was going to have a drink and wanted to make sure I had something in my stomach before the alcohol. So I had egg yolk. The only thing that was really off plan was the avocado toast and the grilled cheese dumpling in tomato soup. Everything else we ordered had a protein component so I did ok. All small bites: pulled pork, chicken meatball, tuna poke, lobster BLT slider (that I gutted) and then the two offending items. On the bright side, I got our bar tab comped. I recognized the chef/owner and praised the place appropriately (it really is one of my favorite restaurants). Chefs in LA tend to have egos on the larger side, so he was happy to get the attention. He was happy, we were happy. It was a win all around.

QOTD: (1) health for my friends and family; (2) financial freedom whi*****ludes enough money to assist the husky rescue I support; (3) the ability to travel

My plan:

B: Bacon (and depending on my co-worker's breakfast choice, maybe an egg yolk . . . he won't eat them, but he knows I will)

L: I have choices -- leftover sausage and peppers or deli turkey, cheese stick and a few carrots

D: shrimp (I think)

S: A latte and a yogurt before the gym

E: TRX and Spin

Your coworker sounds adorable. How cool that you recognized the chef -- I am very bad about recognizing people that I'm not expecting to see!! Its usually only many hours later that it clicks!

LOL, I don't know that he'd appreciate it if I told him he was adorable, but he's pretty awesome! As for the chef, I'd been to the restaurant a bunch and he's pretty well known. If you watch the Food Network, he judges on Chopped all the time (Chris Santos). I watch so it was easy to pick him out in the crowd!!
