Top of the morning menu peeps!!

With our puppy I'm getting up too early for my taste but at least I get to post here along with everybody else.

QOTD: 1) health for my family 2) my kids to be productive members of society - implies a good education 3)enough $$ in the investments for DH to retire at 55 - his goal. I don't mind working, I can't picture myself retiring.

Accountability: good. Had an unplanned yogurt at night. Wanted something sweet. In the big picture the yogurt vs a brownie is not that bad.

B: protein coffee

L: chicken meat balls

S: cheese

D: taco filling - tonight is taco night

Have a great day everyone.

good morning everyone!

Had a good day yesterday and almost didn't have to talk myself into working out for a change...I feel like once I put on my sports bra, I am committed LOL...so on M,W,F, I am going to automatically changing into a sports bra as soon as I get home.

QOTD: 1. Financial stability seems to be popular but hey, this is Society today right?--I am in for this. I would actually wish to be a bit more than stable though, let's say "very comfortable"...and by doing something I love, like painting whatever I want, or becoming a personal stylist to celebrities or something, but still have lots of time leftover for family and fun.
2. For my daughter to grow up secure, healthy, happy and productive...hell, I wish this for all my family.
3. to be able to maintain a healthy weight the rest of my life without trying! LOL

B: coffee w/half caramel PP, 1/2C cottage cheese w/5 strawberries
L: leftovers - 2oz Ranch chicken w/1/4c carrot spirals & peas
D: I think DH is planning on putting a roast in the crockpot this morning- it was out on the counter when I got up this morning. It would be "italian beef" with giardinera and peppers if he makes it. otherwise, I'll probably have some lunch meat and cheese

have a great day everyone!

Mornin'!

Last night I had dinner with a family I've had some close connections with over the years. On Monday night, we had flash flooding here in southern Wisconsin, and the father's SUV got stuck in a culvert. The three people in the car couldn't get out. Two passersby (and later one or two others) were able to get one of the back doors open and save two of the passengers. They were able to pull the father of this family out, too, but he lost his footing and was swept up by the current. His body was found the next morning. I actually didn't know the father that well although I'd met him at a couple of their family functions, but I know his first wife and his daughters very well. So anyway, last night, the daughters and their families and a couple of their friends got together. The two other passengers in the car plus the two passersby who saved their lives were also there. It was an honor to be there.

QOTD: 1) I'd wish that I could hold on to my health for as long as possible. I'd never want to die like my father did - lingering on and on with so many serious health issues. It was awful! 2) I wish that it was really easy to keep my weight off - because I never want to go back to where I was before 2) financial security for my siblings. I'm not exactly living high on the hog by any means, but we're comfortable and I'm pretty confident we'll survive our later years OK, but I'm not so sure about my siblings. They don't have pensions and, to my knowledge, haven't saved very much. I worry about them - and millions of others - esp if social programs get cut.

2 years 3 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with raspberries

MS: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax shake

L: leftover chicken kabob and couscous

AS: protein shake or protein pudding

D: corn on the cob, pulled pork

Wow, how horrible for the man! And so selfless of the passerbyes to help. In those kind of situations you never know if by stepping in you might be swept away too. How sad.

both the man who died and one of the passengers who was in the car both lost their footing after getting out. The passersby held on with all their might - at one time they had to hold the woman by her hair to keep her from being swallowed up by the water. They held on to the man who died for a few moments - but the current was so strong they had to let go, else they would have gone under with him. The man who tried to save him broke into tears several times last night. We kept trying to reassure him that he saved two people's lives. I hope he'll remember that. Two people are alive because of him!

I'm so sorry for that family's loss, what a terrible trauma! And how courageous of the passers-by, to have helped the people they were able to save!

Good morning~Glad to hear both your brothers are doing better, Cassie! So tired today - my cat was a acting strange all night and meowing and talking non stop, he would just not settle down unless I was petting him. I would then fall asleep and he would start up again. I have no idea why he is acting this way. I've had him for 6 years, but he's the only cat I've ever had so I don't know what this is. When he is sick he gets super quiet and won't eat and neither is the case here, so this is new to me. Rob will be home with him today and let me know how he does. Any cat lovers input is welcome!
