Hello! Didn't see a thread so I thought I'd start.

my twin brother is doing much better, though they still don't know what's wrong with him, and my other brother was released from the hospital yesterday! So at least most of my brothers are not hospitalized now. But the one brother, who's a neurologist, has been calling to tell me to tell my twins doctors different diagnosis to test for. He never quits!

I have a followup with my endocrinologist, but my a1c is now normal at 5.3(woohoo!) so we'll see what she says about continuing to see her every 3 months.

QoTD: if you found a genie and could have 3 wishes, what would you wish for? 1) that my family get and stay healthy! 2) my dream house 3) that I could run a cat sanctuary

accountability: I left work and drove home to be with my twin, so I had my coffee, and then smacked on jerky most of the day, and had a chicken salad from the hospital cafeteria for dinner

breakfast: coffee and premier

lunch: I didn't take my packed lunch with me home yesterday so I'll eat that today

dinner: Zuppa Toscana. Again, didn't eat it yesterday

Good morning Writer and menu crew - Great news about your brothers and your A1C! yay! Great gm night last night. I decided I have been doing more grazing than I realize recently. You really DO NOT realize what a handful here and there can do. I have decided to stay at work and walk at lunch. I go home at lunch and ALWAYS grab a handful of something. I am going to be diligent and will get to 195 by Thanksgiving. That is my goal. You heard it here folks.

QOTD - 1. Long term Health for my family and I, 2. The financial means to retire from our current jobs by age 60 3. Pay off college loans.

B - 2 hard boiled eggs

MS- Danon light and fit caramel apple pie

L - 4 oz manwhich meat

S - cheese stick

D - Ribeye

Stay healthy my friends, Thanks, Mike

I want to get back into hovering in my comfortable range by late October. Right now I'm hovering at 118-121, which is 3 pounds higher than where I like to be.

thank you for starting Thursday's thread off. I was on earlier and didn't see one for the day. I would have felt weird starting one since I haven't been a member very long.

QoTD - 1. that all of my children grow into productive, happy lives

2. A thriving homestead with various trees and livestock

3. to be in a place in my life where I could do more volunteer work in the community

Food - I realize I am not really eating the way most WLS patients eat right now and that is really hard for me mentally. It is hard to not feel that I am doing something wrong even though cognitively I know right now it is right. I am doing well with meeting my personal goals for hydration, protein, vitamins. I am seeing a pattern about what types and how much carbs I can handle although I am learning to go slow when reintroducing or introducing a new food into the routine. Yesterday was 1 month post op. The rapid weight loss has stopped and I have even gained from my LW enough to where I feel I can safely say I am 130/131 lbs and feel confident I am on track in regaining my health. My fingernails are growing again and those close to me say my color is back. I still get tired but I think some of that is to be expected in the months after surgery. I feel much much better overall than the past year. Amazing what getting the basics like hydration, vitamins, protein, etc. can do for you. I am learning to use this new anatomy properly. It is much different than the sleeve and that is a bit of a mind bender. I want to be healthy and can't exercise right now (due to how it effects my heart rate and needing every calorie right now). I MISS exercising. I never could have said that when morbidly obese. I have learned through all of this that food is fuel and that sometimes we need less fuel and sometime more fuel, different types of fuel, etc.. I didn't realize when I was morbidly obese how emotionally connected food was for me. I think the real test will be once my weight is stable and I am exercising again, will I be able to handle a maintenance lifestyle? That is one of my biggest fears but I am trying to take it one day at a time and learn from those who have had success further out and their posts

It is a beautiful Thursday morning here. We have had a great visit with our friends and they are leaving this morning. The guys went bowling and out for ice cream yesterday afternoon, then we went to our favorite seafood restaurant last night where I had super fresh sushi (with 2 days of leftovers remaining from that meal and the prior day - yeah!). They have offered to plan a guys weekend soon too where I would drive DH halfway and his friend would pick him up. That will be a nice break for both of us.

QOTD: Three wishes? I assume one can't be a few million dollars? I'd wish that:

  1. DH didn't have Alzheimers
  2. My children were happy and successful
  3. My House here was on the pond (vs. just having a pond "peek")

2 Years, 4.5 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 20.5 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Leftover sushi (the other leftover will keep better for another day)

S: deli chicken and cottage cheese

Soooo.... I have a job interview today 11:45am eastern time. Ack! I need a job.

QOTD: in relation to above I have a very full life and work hard at a lot of things even though I don't get paid forvthem. If I didn't need a job I would happily continue with life as is. 1. Financial security- whatever that means 2. Physical health and well being. Staying strong. 3. Lots of travel including India to see my grandkids

Food? So iffy today-

B: latte, overnight oats

bringing a protein bar with me. Meeting someone at Starbucks after interview so... egg bites may happen

Dinner: cauliflower gnocchi and pork carnitas

S: Protein powder

Ex: yoga, weightlifting

Good luck with your interview! It's so stressful. I still haven't heard back about my phone interview from last Tuesday. Ugh!
