What's on your Wednesday Menu RNY'ers?

Congratulations on your oldest son's engagement! That's wonderful! Have you met his fiance? Do you like her? I hope that your younger son is able to roll with th e changes. I think as moms, will forever absorb some of our kids upsets and stresses. Hoping for the best and an easy transition!
Yes they've dated since Rudy's freshman year of college. She was a year older and stayed in Jacksonville for a year after she graduated to be with him. Then when he graduated they both moved to Springfield. They've lived in Minneapolis now for about 3 years so we don't see them often but she is a sweetheart. Haven't met her parents who live up near Chicago. Just not sure of details yet so that's some of the stress. Also being retired money is a huge issue for us so not sure how much we'll be able to help moneywise and that is stressful for sure.

Sorry for everything you are dealing with. My industry has so much consolidation, I am working through my 6th acquisition in my career! It's very stressful, particularly when the shock is still in play. If you can remind him that a positive attitude and flexibility will go far and that there is opportunity in change. Good luck to him!!

Hi all! Oh boy, am I ever freaking out. Finally bit the bullet and stepped on the scale after my two vacations and basically most of the summer.... UP 25 POUNDS?! I will admit that it is also shark week so that may have some contribution but I'm not going to delude myself into thinking that this isn't 100% my fault. I feel like the biggest failure and I'm ashamed and truly embarrassed because I am sure people are looking/talking about my once again weight loss yo-yo and "how sad it is that she just has struggled her whole life." Or something along those lines.
Qotd: I didn't have too many fears about wls. I was a little afraid of dumping syndrome, but I also thought that it would help keep me inline.. sort of like a brutal reminder of what I shouldn't be doing lol. Oddly, my biggest worry (if you could go so far to call it that) was not being able to drink carbonated things. I LOVE KOMBUCHA! And even though it's not as bubbly as soda, I was worried that I'd be giving it up forever. Now, if I don't guzzle it down, I can still enjoy it. Also, because I love bubbly drinks (not super sweet ones), the soda stream is a great option for me because I can control the amount of carbonation and I'm in control of what flavors/additives do or do not go into it.
menu: this is the no $hi+, no kidding menu. I know it's going to be tougher with a mature pouch but I have so much damage to undo weight wise.
b- keto bone broth shake
l- syntrax
s- syntrax
d- my coworker wants to go to our fav restaurant and get spinach enchiladas. I'll probably just eat the filling and get them without rice and beans... so basically wilted spinach with mushrooms and cheese hahaha
it's never to late to get back on the horse. If you fall on your back, you can look up. If you can look up then you can get up! Make it a good day, everyone
I'm sure you have tried this, but wouldn't CAMAW or AMAW work better for a "mature" pouch to get back to basics? I'm about 14 months out and I couldn't do only liquids all day. But as soon as I start CAMAW my pouch gets the signal it's back to business. Just a suggestion.

CAMAW definitely works for me. I think I'm just in this mindset of needing one week (or at least a few days) to really reign it in and then I'll start adding stuff in. Doing ok so far. I'm drinking water like crazy so that keeps me from feeling too hungry and I'm still getting my protein for the time being. I know that I cannot go on like this for too long though. I'm just freaking out. I think it's mostly mental for me right now. Definitely looking forward to eating more solid foods once I see the number drop a little. I completely agree with what you're saying though. I think if I eat a solid food for dinner then I'll be able to do this for another day or two and then go straight to CAMAW. My struggle is staying away from cheese etc when I do it though. I just have to track everything and be as mindful as possible.
Cheese is my downfall too. I could eat cheese ALL DAY LONG!!
