I'm off Friday- so my week is just about over. I have my physical with my PCP Friday so have been working hard to keep my weight at the lowest of where I've been lately. I'm down 4# from my 'WTF high', so I won't be beside myself, feeling like an utter failure. I need to keep perspective - I've still lost and kept off 120#. Despite this knowing the appt is coming I still consumed way too many graham crackers yesterday. Sneaky little nothing carbs. A Target opened within walking distance of my job-- wayyyy to convenient to buy inexpensive carbs (and countless other things I didn't know I needed till I walk the aisles). I generally don't leave the office during the day because if I do I'll buy crap.

Qotd: Let's dispel some WLS fears for those lurking or new. What's something you thought about WLS that you find is not true after having been through it?

Me: I thought that I'd always be sick and vomiting after WLS. I was scared that I'd trade off being 'healthy fat' to sickly skinny. I remember a story Al Roker told about losing control of his bowels some point after he had WLS- and I thought that'd me my life. Thankfully, vomiting has only occurred maybe two times since surgery, and I have no #2 issues. And I'm not only healthy-- I'm physically fit.

214.5 today, 3.3 years out

Wow, you're doing great! Keep it up and stay positive..those darn Targets pop up all over. The other day I almost walked into a Chinese Restaurant for a small lunch special, took all my might, but walked away I did! You got this, keep walking, put your ear buds in and get distracted from carbs

Morning all! I'm up and moving. The Metro system is having lots of work and some of the lines that I use are down...boo hiss...causing more problems with commuting. I decided to try a different line this morning that instead of letting me off 2 blocks from my office, means that I need to walk about a mile from the station to the office. So I already have in my first mile for the day. I am grateful that it wasn't too hot or humid this morning but this afternoon there may be thunderstorms so that may be a mess. I have my umbrella and raincoat though so it should be okay.

I have a writing class this morning. We are required to attend one almost every year and they are always boring and a pain to get through. Next week we have another class on consultation which should be awful as well.

This evening I have a cyber session with my trainer, which should be great! BTW if any of you are interested in working with a trainer, Gary is great and does cyber workout sessions with Skype, Facetime, Duo and others. It is a great way to get in a good, challenging workout without having to leave your home. If you're interested, feel free to PM me and I'll give you the info. He is very familiar with WLS patients and loves to work with clients at any fitness level.

QOTD: I thought that I would be sick and dump all the time. I don't have real dumping syndrome but there are some foods, like yeast breads, rice and pasta, that make me very ill and wish I could "purge" them. Overall if I avoid my trigger foods (which are certainly better for my health anyway), I feel better than I ever have in my life!

Good luck with your appointment Peach!

Day 2 of company and it is raining. What can we do today? Since I would normally suggest the beach this is draining me... Museum maybe?

QOTD: I was pretty prepared via research on Google and my surgeons office. But I did expect a lot more pain after the surgery and was pleasantly surprised at how relatively painless it was. I was also lucky in that I never had any nausea which I was afraid of.

Given that you live there, you probably already know this but the coast guard heritage museum in Barnstable is awesome! It's a 3 level old building and so much stuff, I spent a good three hours, everyone had to come looking for me because they couldn't believe I stayed in there so long on a rainy day kind of place. Of course, I'm the annoying person that has to read everything!
