What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning all, welcome back, JB! I haven't taught in years, but those couple of weeks before students returned was always super hectic and in my particular school, the air conditioning wasn't switched on until the night before students arrived. So any classroom prep I did was done in sweltering heat, with giant industrial fans blowin all my stuff around. Oy vey!
ive been super exhausted and tired but I think it's the weather. The last two days have been rainy and windy and today is hazy (smoke?). One of my Mammoth sunflowers fell in yesterday's winds, so sad!
qotd: the Swedish chef! Lol no particular reason other than I like to cook and he always made me giggle.
Breakfast: I forgot to grab my Premier so my coffee will be black this morning.
Snack: Volpi mozzarella and prosciutto
lunch: Greek L&F
dinner: leftover zucchini lasagna
Probably a protein shake before bed to make up for missing my morning one.

Morning everyone!
Its another rainy gloomy day but at least its not happening on my day off!
forced myself to do my workout again last night even though my inner voice kept trying to convince me I could skip it. I swear I wish I knew how people just become exercise fanatics after being MO most of their lives?
I was talking to my sister about it this weekend and she's been relatively thin most of her life, but said some people just don't ever enjoy it!--she hates it but has always just made herself do it to stay fit/healthy...and I am sure it's easier when you're not MO but still...I want to be someone who enjoys working out. I seriously hate every minute of it until it's over, but then I feel good...like I accomplished something...and it does help reduce my stress/anxiety but I don't realize it until I'm done.
QOTD: I think part of me is Kermit--responsible, sort of care-taker and leader...and part of me is Miss Piggy--fashion and makeup obsessed and always wants to be loved.
B: coffee w/sugar free hazelnut creamer, greek L&F yogurt
L: leftover sausage egg roll in a bowl
D: turkey taco salad
S: light string cheese
have a fabulous day all!

I totally know what you mean! I often dread it, but once I get there, and especially once it's done, I feel so strong and accomplished. I have found that I have to really enjoy the activity. I am someone who is motivated by group classes - I get sort of secretly competitive and really push myself much harder than if I were just alone on my elliptical, for example. I am also motivated by good music! Give me a Beyonce playlist and I will slay that workout!
Another thing that works for me is to schedule my workouts at the beginning of the week. I look at my work schedule, social schedule, and gym class schedule and decide what I am going to do and put it in Outlook. Then, I am not sitting around thinking about how I suck on Tuesday night - it's a scheduled night off, ya know?
Hopefully you find something that really works for you.
I have a feeling I would totally love doing group classes and feel way more motivated but unfortunately my schedule just doesn't allow time for it...at least not on a regular basis.
I am hoping that one day in the future I can do them, but DH works opposite hours and we have a 3 yr old. the time factor is rough.
I need to be my own motivator right now, doing it at home and it is hard, but I am trying!

I get the secret competitive, I think many people are that way. I will purposely pick a treadmill next to someone that is running just so i get the feel like I am running on the road. I also choose to ride and elliptical that is next to a Bike - there is a lady that rides that bike and really pushes herself and I push myself harder when she is there. I sneak peeks at what speed people are running at as well...LOL
