Oh, Hillary, I'm so sorry about losing Uma. It is so hard to say goodbye to our beloved pets, I know. My heart goes out to you.

I'm so sorry about Uma. Our Chiquita will be 17 in October and I think her days are growing short now too.

Good morning!

I've been off here for a couple of weeks while on vacation. I don't really use the computer at home so I've been off, but I missed the daily read here.

I behaved (mostly) on vacation, and I'm down 3 lbs from when I started. I'll take that. It was a very busy time, plenty of activity around the house. One in particular that I'm proud of, is installing 2 clothesline posts and lines. It doesn't seem like much, but digging two 12" holes, 56" deep (to get below the frost line) in clay in summertime, was a job. The poles themselves are T poles, 3 1/2" gas pipe (1/4" thick) with gas pipe cross bars, all welded up. I dug the first one out of someone's backyard, and that took 5 hours. The 2nd one, they pulled out for me with a tractor. They are about 120 lbs each, so I wanted to handle them as little as possible. They went in nice though, and there are 4 bags of concrete and 2 bags of sand in each hole. They won't go anywhere anytime soon, and my wife loves them.

We did a lot of little day trips, blueberry picking, beach trips, etc. and had a great time off. It's probably the first time in my life, that I wasn't ready to come back to work, but here I am.......sigh...LOL

Menu: Protein bar and coffee. This time it's a Starbucks blonde roast called "True North". Never had it, but it's amazing (and I'm a dark roast guy). Oh and a couple handfuls of blueberries. We may have picked a metric tonne of them.

MS/AS Protein shakes if I get to them. Lunch: 1 cup of my wife's latest recipe, "Tuscan Chicken Pasta". It's pasta which doesn't sit great, but the chicken and the flavour of the rest of it is beyond incredible.

Supper: Unknown but on-plan

QOTD: The first thing that comes to mind (and sorry if anyone here has done it) is this jumping out of your moving car thing. I've seen it floating around the internet and it's just the dumbest thing I've ever seen next to eating Tide pods or spoonfuls of cinnamon. Seriously, if I was an alien observing earth for a possible contact point, I'd just pass on by with a big "Nope".

Your alien mention made me laugh. We sure do a lot of stupid stuff.
