I have issues too. I was out last night and we were taking all sorts of pictures. When I saw them, I seriously thought 'who is that skinny girl?' Yet in the mirror, even just this morning - all I see is fat. I don't get it.

Hang in there

Thanks Amy. I guess that's why it is good to have pictures that give us another "snap shot" of reality.

Usually I look at my unclothed body with compassion, and I'm grateful I feel that way towards myself, rather than being supercritical or disgusted. I see the way I look as basically good, far better than prior to surgery, but the extra skin, etc. is definitely collateral damage. I will absolutely, no question whatsoever, need plastics, and hope I can manage that financially! Usually I feel pretty slim, especially in some clothes, but I notice that when I record my daily weigh-in, which I always do on an online calendar, I often will transpose numbers - 167 becomes 176, for instance, and then I will see it, stop, and have to puzzle it out for a second or two. Occasionally I unthinkingly even record the first digit as a 2 instead of a 1. It all has a through-the-looking-glass quality, very strange.

I often catch myself wanting to put 2 as my first digit, too. Weird!

I guess our brains catch up to the changes in our bodies in stages. It is an odd disconnect!

Good Morning Peach and Menu Family!

QOTD: I think someday we will look back at the pictures of us in shredded jeans and wonder what we were thinking.

Accountability: Boy, I am still on an eating binge. Bought some goodies at Walmart for my daughter and I've been eating them, which has pushed my calories up sky high. Not even going to report my calories for yesterday.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana

L: ham, cheese, tomato on 45 calorie bread, light & fit Greek yogurt

D: Healthy Choice meal, light & fit Greek yogurt

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, frozen yogurt

E: walking dogs

Have a great day everyone!

what's going on?

Maybe add some more fat or fiber to your diet so you won't feel like eating? Sometimes a bowl of high-fiber cereal can stop mindless eating for me. I know that feeling, though - I've gotten caught up in it as well. I try to distract myself, but sometimes it's really hard!!

Thanks, Trish! I've just got to quit buying brownies and other baked goods at Walmart for my daughter. (Or buy goodies for her that I don't like and won't tempt me). And you're right, I need to get busier so I'm distracted from eating so much. Thank you for the suggestions and support. I'll get this under control. I HAVE to!

If I have sweets in the house for hubby or son they are stored out of sight in the back of a cupboard. If it's not easy to access or right out on the counter where I see it I can stay away. You need to nip this in the bud, because although it hasn't affected your weight yet, you are right at the point where I began to gain weight while still eating on plan. Your body is adapting and weight will come on with a vengance soon. It's time to change those habits now before you step on the scale snd hate the number you see there!
