I had an Etsy shop for several years and did reasonably well with it - not enough to live on, but in a good month I'd make maybe $1300, in a bad month maybe $700. If they hadn't eliminated my category and kicked many hundreds (but bizarrely, not all) of us out, I'd still be there. It's easy to open a shop there. You can be paid by direct deposit or by Paypal. I'm not sure but I think that Etsy absorbs any chargebacks, should any occur.
Etsy was disgustingly poorly run for years, with absolute tons of hipster perks for their Brooklyn headquarters employees, and absolutely terrible vendor support. Plus, management obscured critical data when Etsy went public, forcing a furious retaliation from new shareholders when it became clear things were not as they'd been portrayed. Since they closed my shop i haven't paid much attention to the site. I, along with others in that purge, felt extremely poorly treated. But I enjoyed being there despite the terrible management practices. Etsy was extremely capricious in their application of rules and standards, so that some vendors profited handsomely despite violating all of the supposed handmade/vintage Etsy ethos in favor of marketing mass produced Chinese goods. This still goes on. And they were constantly tinkering with the algorithms to favor or disfavor various categories. Honestly, they were pretty bad! But I still liked it when I was there despite being frustrated by their disregard for their true customers (the vendors!), and felt more or less at home there, overall.
Good luck to your DW! If she wants a shop banner, avatar, etc. for it let me know, I'd be happy to design them for her.
Morning all!! Can't believe it's 11 already! My in is done and ten I spent an Hour and a half doing yard work. I'm ready for winter cause I'm sick of doing the yard work now!!! yesterday I shopped a little impulsively, go a cute pleather jacket and dress on clearance, and pants for fall. It was supposed to be shopping for the kids but they both said they were good in clothes/school stuff. After brinigntjat stuff home I've decided I need lounge wear. It's a vicious cycle.
Qotd: my husband is a Deacon and founding member of his church. I do not attend his- or any church. I would love if we went to church together- but I've tried his church and it's just not for me and he stuck in his ways. I don't require the kids to attend service, but I do not tolerate comparing when I do ask them to go. I pray, but more so feel like I have an ongoing conversation with God. I'd like to think my spirituality shines through the type of person I am, living a life pleasing to God. I do constantly ask myself, would it please Him?

Ongoing conversation with God - what a great way to describe your prayer. I feel that way too.

We are in NH at Newfound Lake. It is a beautiful day and we are going out on a boat this afternoon to a location where a band is playing on a barge. We will be leaving for home just after dinner to miss traffic and be home tomorrow for company arriving late in the day. Summer is long this year!
QOTD: I don't believe that formal attendance at church is required to be spiritual. DH is Catholic and I bring him every week but I don't stay (I was never Catholic anyway).
