Hi everyone! Late post, as usual!

Thank you Peach for starting us out! Great photo, you look very glamorous! Sorry about your co-workers. Hopefully no more funerals for a long time.

I'm down a pound today, hooray. Skirts in my closet are becoming zippable now, certainly not all, but some. A few are actually too big - I will get rid of those. Last year I bought myself a pretty pencil skirt during a big Talbots sale in a size 10 as an incentive. Of course it didn't fit but I liked it, the price was right, and I figured at some point this year it would fit. I knew I'd reach that size and probably less, but figured this fall to winter I would probably be around that size, and it is a fall/winter skirt. Anyway, I just tried it on and I can get it on but I don't want to force the zipper - needs another few pounds to fit properly. Still, I got a little charge out of seeing it kinda fit me lol!

First: Started the day with 54 ounces of tea!

B: Ham with Swiss cheese melted on top. The cats are crazy for ham, so I give them a few tiny bites.

L: tuna

D: probably a repeat of breakfast

S: a small handful of fresh off the cane blackberries, either plain or, if I feel more like it, with a dollop of plain Greek yogurt and a splash of SF vanilla syrup

Wishing you all peaceful hearts and sending you all love today!

I'm envious of your blackberries! They are my favorite! When I was a kid there were wild ones growing everywhere when I lived in MA. I would eat them all the time fresh picked. I want to say they were vines, but they may be bushes...

Yeah, they throw out long barbed canes full of leaves and clusters of berries. Here they form huge hedges and thickets, as impenetrable as those around Sleeping Beauty's castle! We have blackberries and, mostly, raspberries along the back edge of the yard of our summer house in upstate NY, as well as high bush blueberries, and tons of sweet, tiny alpine strawberries in the grass. But I have never, literally never, seen blackberries go to town the way they do here. It is amazing! You can't turn around without seeing blackberries! This clearly is their absolutely perfect environment. And they just keep producing and producing! I've been harvesting for weeks now and there are always tons and tons more! It's like that magic purse in fairytales: no matter how many gold coins you take out of it, there are always more inside! Wish I could send you some!

We have some of these in our neighborhood on Cape Cod. I didn't know that's what they were!

When fully ripe, they are fat, glossy, and very black, and will easily be pulled from their *****ly stems. If they resist an initial gentle tug, leave them, as they aren't fully ripe. Watch for thorns. They are really good, especially if it's been hot and sunny! Pick from clean areas, avoid locations along busy roadsides. The pics above are from about a 500' embankment covered with non-stop berries along the beach.
