What's on your Thursday Menu RNY'ers?
hmmm...I went yesterday, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm not backed up. I wasn't going to do Miralax this morning, but maybe I will just in case...
btw - I'm back on all my supplements except for iron and calcium - I figured I'd hold off on those until I'm done with the pain killer, since those are known for constipating people, too...
QOTD2 (forgot this one!): I'm recently retired, but my commute for the last 16 years was about 10 minutes - maybe 15-20 if traffic was really bad.
some friends just now called me (using WhatsApp) from Turkey! I've used it before for texting, but didn't realize you could make free phone calls on it! What a surprise (both getting that call - and realizing I can call them whenever I want for free!)
Good morning!
QOTD I've learned I need to take care of me.
QOTD 2 I have an hour drive both ways and it isn't so bad, but am so looking forward to retirement. DH is already retired so he does most of the cooking during the week and I get the weekends. I walk in the evenings, so I have to come straight in and change shoes. Can't get caught up in other things or I will blow off the walk. Because I do my Bible reading in the am I have to set my alarm at 5, but I enjoy the quiet and the 1st 2 cups of tea, so it's something I look forward to doing.
Yesterday I had a grazing issue. I wish I could come up with a way to overcome that. Cals 843, protein 87, carbs 31, fat 43. Today 1st tea with half and half then a boiled whole egg and 2nd egg just the white. L tuna salad. D cod. Snacks chicken breast, light babybel.

I just realized this morning that I have to leave my beautiful house again on Monday! I am heading up to Vancouver BC all by myself for a week long ESports tournament. I am completely not ready to sleep in a hotel room bed again! Oh well, it should be a fun event to watch live anyway.
Qotd: I am still so early in this journey that I feel like everything is new and I am learning all the time. I would say though that at this point the biggest lesson I have learned is to be easier on myself. If I have a migraine, take my medication. If I am tired, go to bed. I used to put off taking medication thinking the migraines might go away on their own (they never did), and I would make myself feel guilty for being tired so I would stay up later at night just to get more done. I don't know why I always feel the need to be harder on myself than I would be on others, but that is changing now.
Accountability: Yesterday was okay, bu****er came in really low.
BF: 4oz Siggi's Vanilla non fat yogurt, 37g ProGranola
MS: Ostrim Turkey Stick
L: Ranch flavored tuna packet, 4 triscuits
AS: 1/2 chocolate glazed Lebkuchen cookie we brought back from Germany, 1 babybel
D: Gastric Bypass cookbook Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, 1/4 cup ginger beets
900 calories, 80g protein, 120oz Water, all vitamins, still no exercise (not feeling so good)

Those Lebkuchen gingerbread cookies are so good! We had them every year around Christmastime, along with incredible German marzipan, courtesy of my MIL's sweetness and generosity. She would always send us amazing gifts for Christmas. I miss her, what a lovely and kind person she was.
Good morning and happy friday lite. Can't wait for the real thing. My plans for the day are work, work, work. Then the gym. I missed class last night because of work and hope that that doesn't happen again.
QOTD: I've learned that I'm stronger than I give myself credit for. Both mentally and physically.
Bonus Question: I live 7 miles from my office. There are days I can get there in 15 minutes and days it takes 45. Such is LA traffic. I get to work between 7:30 and 7:45, wor****il 6 (on days when I'm trying to make a 6:30 class at the gym) or 7:15 (on days when class is at 7:45), go to the gym then go home. Not an ideal schedule because I have to eat when I get home or my blood sugar will crash, but it's what I have to do to get it in.
My plan:
B: Bacon
L: I brought a chicken breast, but I had one last night and it was a bit dry, so I'm concerned it won't go so well reheated
D: ???????
S: latte and yogurt before the gym
E: TRX and spin
Good Morning Hillary and Menu Familly!
QOTD: I've learned that I enjoy my food more if I eat it slowly, even sometimes with my eyes closed, and don'****ch TV, read or be on the computer while I'm eating, just savor each bite. (I don't always follow this advice, but it's good to try). Also, I eat with a baby spoon and try to take smaller bites of things so they last longer. Another thing. Often I think I'm still hungry after I eat something, but if I wait a half hour or so, I realize I wasn't still hungry after all. A funny thing I've noticed: If I'm feeding the dogs and their dog food smells yummy to me, I must be genuinely hungry. LOL!
QOTD 2: I'm retired so I don't commute. When I was working I could get to work in 10 minutes, though, since I live a smallish town.
Accountability: Yesterday: Another high calorie day. I don't understand why I seem to feel so hungry lately. I guess today I need to try and find something to keep me busy so I don't eat so much.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana
L: peanut butter, banana & sugar free jam on 45 calorie bread
D: Healthy Choice microwave meal, light & fit Greek yogurt
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, cantaloupe, frozen yogurt
E: walking dogs
Have a great day everyone!

hey everyone!
I am posting kind of late today and I've missed the last week or so due to vacation and playing catch-up at work, but I'm back now!
We had an amazing vacation/mini family reunion in Galena IL last weekend and took the kids to do all kinds of fun things...horseback riding, swimming, and even went on a huge Alpine slide! I already can't wait for next year. I did eat several things off plan over the weekend, gained 1 lb but that could be due to my monthly cycle or salt--but I am back on track now!
QOTD: I think I am still getting used to my body changing but I have noticed I do not hate exercise as much as I used to...I still don't love it but some days I don't have to force myself and almost look forward to it.
My commute is about 40 mins without traffic, can be over an hour in traffic--or worse in winter if there's a lot of snow... I knew it would be longer when we bought our house 2 years ago and did look for another job for a while to be closer but everything I could find that pays equivalently was just as far away and I have gotten used to the travel time...it seems like nothing to me now. I usually listen to audiobooks on my commute. I leave my house at about 7am (start work at 8am) and leave work at 4:30- pick up my daughter from the sitter on the way home and we usually get home around 5:30-5:45...I cook dinner, eat, clean up, give her a bath, play/read and tuck her into bed by 7:30...then I have my "me time"...my DH works nights so I can't leave the house to go to a gym, but we have an elliptical and weight machine in the basement so I set aside 3-4 nights a week to work out after she goes to sleep. usually I am done by 9, then shower. nights I don't work out I usually spend doing housework or other things that need done.
Sometimes I am ready for bed right after my shower, some nights I stay up reading or crocheting or drawing, or watching tv.
Morning: coffee w/SF blueberry flavor and SF vanilla creamer
B: 1/2 c cottage cheese w/pineapple chunks
L: leftover turkey italian sausage w/broccoli
D: crab salad w/peas & bacon
S: L&F greek yogurt if needed
I got lots of pics from vacation to share for photo friday tomorrow! (also my new haircut which I know some of you were asking about LOL)
have a great day everyone!

Where do you find sf blueberry flavor? I am intrigued at the idea of blueberry and coffee!
