Good morning! It sounds like your current strange work schedule is going to become more regular but different than in the past? I think having a regular work schedule even with a long commute is preferable to a changing one, but that is because I always had a long commute. At the least I commuted 45 minutes each way. At the most it was for 1.5 hours each way (often verging on 2 hours each way with traffic). I was used to the commute so it was my quiet contemplative time when I would adjust into work mode, then home mode. When I started working from home a lot, I found that I had to build in that adjustment time away from conversation after I stopped working. I managed well with the hours until the last 5 years or so when I found myself doing less and less at night and really just vegetating and going to bed early. It was probably a function of my age and the fact that I was doing my longest commute (generally the 2 hours with traffic one). Over the years, I actually was happy with a 45 minute to one hour commute, but over that not so much.

QOTD: I never tried yoga prior to 4 months ago and now try to go 3 times a week. It surprises me how much flexibility and strength I am slowly gaining, especially in a weak shoulder. I had favored it for over 10 years and it had gotten very stiff. It is kind of like slow, consistent physical therapy.

Accountability: There were peanuts and peanut butter added yesterday, but I tracked them and total calories weren't awful. I found myself gazing at almonds at Trader Joe's, but stopped myself from buying them in time. Damn nuts!

2 Years, 4.5 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 20.5 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: deli roasted chicken

D: Shrimp

S: Siggis yogurt or homemade cottage cheese with fresh berries

I totally agree with this! I started weighing my measured items and found out how WRONG they were! I weigh everything now.

I started weighing almost everything even fry a few months ago- its amazing how wrong things are. especially peanut butter. even protein powder - 1 scoop is not the same number of grams as the scoop so have to weight it out.

I always linger at the nuts section at Trader Joes and want so badly to put them all in my cart! Nuts are tough for me too, especially almonds. The few nuts I do have at home are kept in the freezer now. I don't like cold almonds so no instant gratification and it seems to work as a deterrent -well, so far.

Yes! And they put them near the front! I know nuts are good in moderation, but that "m" word is the problem for me when almonds are readily available.

I just started going to yoga the last month or so. You would think with shoulder surgery that would be my problem area.... they are actually pretty flexible from all the rehab... my legs though? Major work. Hardest thing on my shoulders is doing a high plank or a downward dog for any length of time. Too much shoulder joint pressure.

Morning from Vancouver!

I realized with the time change, I probably won't be able to start the weekend threads. Can someone else kick it off?

qotd: my commute is only 11 minutes now. It's magical. When it was longer, I relied a bit more on meal prep, and really only cooking meals I could pull together quickly

menu. Is up in the air. I'm dealing with conference food. But picked up som wls staples ie meat and cheese for our fridge in the room

have a good one!
