I am almost 3 months out and I am really struggling lately with anxiety and depression. And I feel so ANGRY a lot of the time. Very short tempered. No patience. Just really not my happy, smiley and outgoing self.

I came here today to post and see if I cold get some advice, and it looks like others are having the same thing going on in their worlds over this last week as well. Although I hate to see this - It sure did make me feel less alone. And reading the advice you provided them - well, it made me feel I could come out on the other side.

I forget about the hormones being stored in fat. I forget others are going through this mind-game of losing weight and your brain not being caught up :-) I'm tired of food. Others are too!

Just please know, that your questions AND your thoughtful answers make a difference. They made a difference to me today.

Thank you,

Sheila

Feels that way a lot lately. I have gotten to where I'm tired of explaining myself and have kind of isolated. On a whim, I came here today because I haven't been in a while and it was absolutely what I needed. I don't feel all magically better - but I know I will be soon :-)

Thanks for responding :-)

Congrats on checking in and seeking help. You certainly are not alone in your struggles, whether they are hormones from fat loss, your changing body and habits or just plain life happens. Commit to checking in here every day and you may want to find a professional to talk to at least for a while. It really helps many of us as we adjust to a new way of life!

Hang in there and keep coming back!

Yes - I do need to find someone. I've recently moved and my "old" therapist & psychiatrist are over an hour away. I am committed to at least setting up 1 consult this week. So hard to find someone new! Thank you so much for your encouragement.

I agree. It is hard to find a good fit.

A couple of suggestions, does your job have an Employee Assistance Program? You may want to try referrals through that if you have it. Try the Psychology Today website (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists). They have a good search engine for finding a therapist that matches your needs (insurance, specialties, etc.). That may be a place to start. You could also check with your PCP for suggestions.

In the meantime, stay in touch here. Most of us have been there!
