Happy Sunday everyone! Today needs to be a chore day for me but I've downloaded some new music and a couple of podcasts to help me through it...and I won't start until after my 2nd cup of coffee!! I'm also going to take my favorite Italian Roast Beef crockpot recipe and make it into something a little smaller in size, easier to portion out and have that for today and this week for meals. I think my idea should work.

Yesterday I checked off everything on my to do list and stayed on track food and water wise so it was a good day; I found an unopened container of yummy herbal almond biscotti tea in the cabinet so that was a win and a delicious way to end the night. I fell asleep reading a british murder mystery where the main character tramps the country side quite a bit...so I dreamt about tramping the country side, only in my dream, I was walking around, eating bags of tortilla chips and then having to come on line here and confess it (I've never really been a chip person so it was kind of funny).

QOTD - I've had lots of memorable moments while traveling but I would say either the trip my friend and I did to Scotland in 2008 where we saw just about everything (my favorites were Holyroodhouse; Dunrobbin Castle, Cawdor Castle, and I love Isle of Mull) and a trip in 2010 to Istanbul and Greece. Istanbul is my favorite city, I would love to go back and see more of Turkey and spend more time in that lovely, historic, amazing city. I remember when we were in Athens (which is not my favorite city, but you have to go because it's Athens) and climbed to the top of the Acropolis just being caught by how surreal it was to be standing there, staring at the Parthenon with my own eyes; I had to take a moment. It was not ever something I thought I would be able to do and it was a real benchmark in the life I had as a child and expected to have as an adult vs the life I have made for myself as an adult. Wow, that's too heavy for a Sunday morning, lol. Good question.

B - Coffee + half of a premiere (I'm drinking a vanilla toffee flavored coffee with vanilla premiere and it's so good)

L - L&F yogurt

D - 3 oz roast beef; 1/2 oz cheddar cheese, 1 pepperoncini

Have a wonderful sunday all!!

I love Istanbul, too. I got a similar feeling at Hagia Sofia that you did at the Acropolis. I just stood there with my mouth open, stunned.

It's almost noontime here, but I've been up and going for hours. Just now getting a chance to log in though. I had an early appointment with my therapist. I really needed the time to vent and strategize about how to deal with life right now. It was really helpful and I feel more prepared but still really tired. Then I made the weekly trip to Trader Joe's and tried to find some healthy but quick options for the week ahead. Our store has been out of salmon jerky for weeks now and I love that stuff...boo hiss! Lots of turkey chomps, though.

It is really humid here and there will probably be some t-showers this afternoon, but I would so love to go for a long hike. It would be good for my head, but not my foot, which is a little swollen and sore again. Yesterday, I spent 45 minutes in my little gym doing weights, balance and strength training. None today, though because everything needs a rest to regenerate! I really pushed myself especially on the crunches, pushups and planks to see how many I could do. In my month with the trainer, I am definitely getting stronger and my arms and thigh muscles are more defined. I love that about my new body and that is definitely a new thing!

QOTD: DW and I spent a week in London and area 6 years ago. Her mobility isn't good sometimes so long travels aren't really in the cards most of the time. We do really enjoy our trips to Shenandoah National Park and Solomons Island though for some quiet time.

Menu:

B: 2 HB eggs, ham

S: Isopure cookies & cream protein shake/iced coffee

L: probably some beef & broccoli

S: pkg of Buddig's turkey, small apple

Dinner: I'd like to make steaks or burgers since they need to be used

Exercise: probably a complete veg. day!

Hi everyone, happy Sunday!

Thunderstorms here yesterday curtailed walking until the evening, and also had the black lab I'm petsitting trembling in fear, poor girl. But I did get a lot done.

it's damp and overcast today too, but thankfully much cooler than it had been over the last while. I like it when it's misty up here and the fresh coolness reminds me that fall is on the way! Fall is my favorite season, and I'm really looking forward to seeing some blazing autumnal foliage. California's autumns, at least at low elevation, are very gentle and subtle, just slowly morphing into a benign, short winter - no gorgeously flaming maples, etc. So I look forward to a much more colorful, northerly fall here!

Hopefully the skies will clear by tonight or tomorrow night, as I want to watch the heavens and count shooting stars! Go Perseids!

Today is my 14 month surgiversary! I am up 1/2 pound from yesterday, no idea why, but this is how my loss is proceeding these days: staying the same for a few days, up for a day or two, back down to the previous number, and finally breaking through to a lower plateau. Still, I lost 8.8 pounds this past month, not too shabby this far out. I still hope to reach my first goal of being under 150 by my birthday on 10/9 (It will certainly happen in my birthday month, October, though maybe not by the day itself), and I am still determined to go 13 or so pounds lower by the end of the year, for wiggle room. And then maintenance!

QOTD: Probably the trip to Germany, Denmark, Slovenia, and Croatia with my ex-husband and my son when he was a little one. It was fantastic spending time with my in-laws, who were so incredibly kind and good to me and my boy, as well as the entire rest of my family, even after I divorced their son. I miss them so much. I hit the gold-star lottery with my MIL and FIL, as well as with my own parents. Seriously, how lucky am I?

First: tea, tons of it

B: salmon

L: tuna with melted smoked gouda

D: Ham

S: probably more salmon

I have to go slow with the salmon, I really like it and it's protein-to-calorie payoff is fantastic, but it doesn't always sit well with me and has given me many hours of discomfort. So I chew very slowly and put my fork down between bites, waiting on my body to signal if the next bite is a go or not.

Sending love to all of you. Hope you get to wish upon a falling star tonight!
