Morning everyone!

yesterday was gorgeous! I got my windows washed and a few other things done around the house. Then went to the farmers market with my sister and nephew. Then checked out a fancy ish new patio near the water. Spend the evening in the back yard. I managed to fit a lot in there!

Today will be more of the same, with more of a focus on organizing for our trip. We leave on Tuesday. I have a conference in Vancouver until Sunday am. Then we are travelling around for a week. Can't wait!

qotd: what's your most memorable vacation or trip?

menu:

B: berries from the market with cottage cheese

L: leftover tandoori chicken with some kind of salad

D: tbd

S: protein bar

have a good one!!

I fly home today!

Qotd: Although this trip was awesome, and will be very well remembered, it probably won't go down as most memorable. That goes to a long weekend trip my then boyfriend took me on to Mt. Baker. It was late May and the area was still covered in snow which we hadn't planned for. But we still attempted our planned hikes. On the last one my boyfriend became my fiance when he proposed. He got on one knee in the snow and I will never forget it!

Accountability: yesterday was okay although the lunch plan changed. We went to a movie place that served food at your seat. I ordered a chicken sandwich and just ate the chicken out of it and 4 french fries.

Bf: chobani plain nonfat yogurt cup, 4 triscuits

MS: ostrim meat stick

L: Alaska airlines protein plate

AS: probably nothing

D: A friend is cooking for us. I don't know what exactly but she knows my dietary needs so I can count on protein.

Morning!

I got out of the hospital yesterday and am recuperating in a hotel room in a Chicago suburb. Monday morning I have a post-op appt with the plastic surgeon, then I can go home if all is well . The surgery went well, but boy, this isn't for wimps. I have narcotics, but they're not helping all that much. I suppose it would be worse if I didn't have them, but i still have quite a bit of pain when i transition from things like lying down to sitting and also, when I'm walking. I hope this is a lot better by next week!!

I ate almost nothing on Friday (surgery day) and only 1200 calories yesterday, so no issues with accountability! I really don't have much of an appetite, but I know I need to eat. My body needs calories and protein to heal.

3 yrs 2 mos out:

B1 protein shake

B2 coffee with half and half, yogurt

MS probably another protein shake

L hopefully something other than yogurt

D: ditto!

I'm surprised to hear from you already! I'm glad it went well and I'm sure you will be much more comfortable once you get back home. I wasn't hungry much while on the pain pills which I think is partially because your digestive system is somewhat paralyzed. Hence the real threat of serious constipation, which I didn't have after WLS, but did have a serious problem with after PS. Be sure to take stool softeners! I didn't and paid the price.

I did not want to eat after plastics, either, but made myself drink protein shakes for the first week or so.

Happy healing!!

I think that'll be the case for me as well. We brought a case of unjury RTD down here as well as some protein powder, because I figured that might be all I could handle for a few days. The nurse gave me a prescription for about a week's with of pain killers. She said most people don't need them after the first week. Hopefully that means the pain will be mostly gone by then!! I guess it's just something everyone has to struggle through the first few days... I was expecting it and therefore not surprised, but ugh. It's different when you're actually dealing with it. It's ok if I'm sitting or lying down, but transitioning and walking are tough.

Hang in there! Before you know it, the pain will be a distant memory. It's hard to believe mine was already 7 years ago.

Thinking of you, let us know your favorite Unjury RTD flavor, use family to hoist you up-n-down, and heal like a superstar.

Unjury just started making RTD shakes recently - like within the last year, I think. I never liked any of the other RTD shakes I've tried, even Premier Protein, which I know a lot of people love. But I bought these from Unjury thinking they'd be more convenient in the hospital and hotel. They're not bad!!! I have the chocolate ones
