What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?

Thanks, Karen. If I could just put on a swimsuit and swim without it bothering me or slowing me down, I might not bother. I mean I don't like it, but in clothes you can't even tell it's there. You're right and I am very thankful it's an option, but even more thankful to have this problem vs. being 300 pounds still.

I definitely understand the sticker shock, especially when you think of it in terms of several surgeries. I know that I am "worth" it, but it is still ALOT of $$ that makes you stop and think. I really encourage you to shop around and talk to several PS. Hopefully you will find someone that you connect with, which I think is really important, and then find a way to make it happen.

Thanks Janet! Planning on a ton more research and opinions. I worry putting it off will lead to more putting it off and ultimately not doing it because there will ALWAYS be something 'more important'. You're right I am worth it and I will find a way to make it happen. I may just get my arms done now (which would seriously make me happy) then combine the breast and tummy for next year. It's all swirling in my head right now!

I totally understand both the desire to have PS and being stunned by the cost involved! Don't feel down about this, Amy! You will decide upon the best time and the best surgeon, the one who you feel most comfortable with and confident in, and who knows? You may find a great surgeon with extensive post-WLS experience who offers you a better price as well. I know that there's a medical spa/day surgery office adjacent to Dr. Billy's office in Ventura, but I didn't ask about anyone there about PS - though Dr. Billy did say that with the amount I intended to lose, PS would likely be in my future. You might call just for info or a recommendation, more info never hurts. Buying a house is so huge an endeavor and so incredibly exciting! Couple that with newly taut arms, etc. and your next year or two sound like a joy!

I'd be curious if Dr. Billy would recommended the PS I saw in Ventura... I would prefer one closer to home but I will go with the very best option in the end. Thank you for your encouragement. Taut arms! That just brought the biggest smile to my face!

Happy Saturday! I'm having a relaxing morning, watching the British Bake-off while drinking my coffee. I have a run up to Scottsdale to pick up some books, a Pilates restore class (it's a combo of Pilates and foam roller/trigger point work to get the kinks out which I really need), and then I'm babysitting for my favorite one year old so her folks can see a movie/go out for dinner. Will be a good day!
accountability - I had an extra light & fit but my calories were still under 600 so it wasn't a horrible slide. I finally moved under 190 on the scale so that was an exciting morning!
Qotd - I saw Christopher Robin last week - so good!
b - .5 premiere + coffee
s - light and fit yogurt
l - 2 oz unexpected cheddar, 2 oz deli turkey
d - 2 oz deli turkey
havw a great Saturday!

Today is my birthday, so later today my girls, niece and I are going to get get pedicures. Later we will cook hamburgers on the grill, which is my all-time favorite meal (I'm easy...lol).
QOTD: The last movie I saw was Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The special effects were good, but the plot was a bit lame. I still liked it, though.
I have an appointment with a new bariatric surgeon for a routine follow up in 10 days so I am determined to get through the carb withdrawals by then. I have had 2 good days in a row so far. Yay, me!!
Almost 10 years out/52 years old/trying to lose 10 pounds
Goals today: under 1500 calories (I may go a bit more but will not go too crazy just because of my birthday), at least 14,300 steps, all vitamins/supplements, at least 7 hours of sleep
