Good morning. And TGIF. I thought it would never get here! I started my morning with 6am spin. Not my usual class, but my usual instructor and she booked me in because she was afraid it would be a really small class. I *****ed about such an early class, but once I started it was fine. I don't know that I want to do it every day, but once it a while it's ok. So, I got two birthday rides!!
PQOTD: Really, two things. One, my competitive nature. We have a family friend who was considering surgery and there was no way in hell I was going to have her look better than me. Two, I realized weight was an issue, when I decided I'd rather not be able to refill my meds rather than go to the cardiologist, get on the scale and get a lecture.
My plan:
B: Egg bites and a latte
L: ? Some of the female attorneys in my office want to take me out for my birthday. They were talking about an italian place in walking distance. I'm sure there will be a salad with protein that I can have.
D: ?? I was invited to a friend's house for shabbat dinner. She asked if I had any requests and I said no. So I have no idea what's in store. I'm not going to sweat it. Whatever she makes will be great. She does chicken a bunch, so I'm thinking something that clucked at one time
S: I had a graham cracker square with peanut butter on my way to spin this morning. Likely nothing else since there's no afternoon gym class and I'm leaving early from work.
Happy Birthday!!

Hello menu pals! Happy Friday! Friday has always been my favorite day, brimming over with potential!
Peach, thanks for starting us! You look fabulous!
Just two more days to my 14-month surgiversary, and I'm hoping to see a little drop in the scale by then. I put the remainder of the blackberries in the freezer. They are so good, and low in calories, but not low in carbs, so I have decided to wait until I hit goal before I enjoy them again.goal i will still pick more, to have a good supply frozen for later on.
QOTD: I had gained and lost significant amounts of weight many times, going down each time to a very slim pont. I always did this via extremely restrictive, draconian liquid diets. The problem with those when adhered to for so long is that your body really, really wants to bounce back up, and it does. Plus I obviously made lots of behavioral mistakes, and had mistaken attitudes as well. I found myself exhausted by dieting, only to regain within a couple of years. I finally decided to have WLS to give myself some help in not just losing, because I'd done that many times and could probably have found the intense resolve required from somewhere within myself again, but to help me to hold onto my losses instead of blowing back up again. I do understand that this will be up to me, that I will need to continue to implement discipline, and never fool myself into thinking that I have obesity forever vanquished, because it is in me, lurking and lying in wait (weight?), a practiced and persuasive liar, looking to reclaim me. That being said, I feel more optimistic than ever about achieving my goal and remaining there, providing I continue on course for the remainder of my life! After all those insanely strict liquid diets, though, I have to say that being able to eat meals and choose what I eat feels very satisfying, and a very luxurious way to diet!
First: huge mugs of tea
B: tuna with melted smoked gouda melted
L: salmon
D: salmon
snack if neessary: Ham with Chipotle gouda
enjoy your day, my friends!
