Happy Photo Friday everyone!!! Post whatever photo fancies you!!

Accountability: I need to toss this in today- cause Wednesday was shameful. I need to give up 3 foods (that I shouldn't be eating anyway) due to them causing RH-- but my mind doesn't want to accept it. So Wednesday I went carb crazy- one of my 'over 100' carb days, rare but still. Glad to say yesterday I did much, much better and fought the carb demons.

qotd: what was you 'last straw' that made you decide to have surgery? Mine was after I had my thyroid removed, I just felt hopeless I'd be successful at losing weight while adopting to the replacement hormone.

No weight yet, 3.3 years out

m1: egg, turkey sausage and cheese stick

m2: Greek yogurt and berries

m3: turkey burger and pickles

m4:?? Sautéed shrimp (our fridge is bare!!

Morning!

made it to Friday! It?s supposed to be gorgeous out today. I?m tempted to play hooky, but I don?t think I can swing it.

qotd: There were many many straws, but one memory stands out. I had just hit a drive through and ate a whole whoppper combo meal. Not even feeling full I realized there won't ever be enough food. Where will it end?

photo Friday: i went shopping yesterday. I didn't buy this dress but I really liked it. Then I dug up a photo of me in a black dress from a few weeks before surgery

You look fabulous,Erin. You don't need the black dress though--you need red or a vibrant blue. You should be so proud!

Peach, I love your new outfits! You look great! Also glad that you are back on track with the carbs. It is certainly a constant battle.

Very glad that it's Friday! I really need some down time after lots of stress this week. After we got home from the doctor's last evening (late), I just hit in my office for about an hour. I wanted to be with DW but I knew that I was completely burned out from being big and strong and just needed to be alone for a bit.

In news about my DW, first the excellent news...the neurologist had been thinking that she had the autoimmune disease Central Nervous System Vasculitis. Fortunately, the MRI-Angio showed that she doesn't and that the large blood vessels of her brain are whistle clean! It appears that she does have vascular disease of the small vessels though that is causing the scar tissue of the brain and most likely elsewhere in her body. It can cause kidney problems and vessel problems throughout the body. He believes that it is caused by her high blood pressure and diabetes, which are under decent control, so I'm not clear why she is having such severe complications anyway. She is definitely SMO, like I was before surgery, but isn't sure whether she can live with the changes of being post-WLS...she really loves her carbs and has trouble sometimes processing dense meat protein. That said, losing weight would really help the progress of her disease and I want to hope that it will be the "last straw" for her to decide to have surgery.

QOTD: my last straw was that my diabetes was getting worse and I needed to start on insulin soon because the oral meds weren't working any more. My pulmonologist suggested WLS and the next day, I called for a consultation with the surgeon.

I posted my pics on Wednesday so no new pics today unless I think of something new...
