When I was in college, there was a commercial bread bakery next to it. When the wind blew in the right direction, you could smell it all over campus. Delicious bread. It was wonderful and torture at the same time.

Good morning menu friends! Lily and I have our 4 miles in and will do another mile after supper. Accountability was great yesterday with 10,117 steps and no extra bites. QOTD my favorite teacher was Mrs. Wilhite my high school science teacher. She challenged us to do our very best and had a very dry sense of humor which most of the students didn't understand. Post op 5 years 11 months weight at 120.4--ick! Heres the food plan for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L meat and cheese roll up 1/2 green beans D 4 oz smoked sausage 1/2 c carrots S 5 oz cottage cheese with 1 T no sugar added jam. Have a great day full of smart choices everyone!
Good Morning Peach and Menu Family!
Sad day yesterday. Our 22+ year old pet pigeon died. He had a long, happy life and we were blessed to have such an amazing, fun pet for so many years. This is what I posted on Facebook:
"Our pet pigeon, "Pigie" died today. He was about 22 years old! He was an AMAZING bird and a wonderful pet! We found him injured on the street 21 years ago and nursed him back to health. When we tried to set him free he kept flying back onto my shoulder and back to our front door. So we decided he wanted to stay with us and he's been our beloved pet ever since. He had the biggest personality! He would coo coo to us, interact with us, knew his name, played with toys, learned to drink out of a hamster bottle and loved to be held and petted! He had to have a foot amputated a while back after it got caught in his bedding and had the circulation cut off. Even with only one foot, he hopped around and made the best of it! He was such a cheerful and loveable bird and we are going to miss him so very much!"
Thank you to everyone who supported me during his amputation surgery and thank you in advance for your sympathies.
QOTD: I loved all my teachers, but I think my favorite was Mr. Karraker, my Watercolor teacher in college. I put off taking Watercolor (a required class for my Art degree****il my last year in college because I was convinced that I couldn't do watercolors. Mr. Karraker taught us watercolor techniques, introduced me to tube watercolors and most importantly, said that even though I didn't paint with watercolors as fluidly as other people did (I paint very controlled and detailed), he said it worked for me and accepted my way of doing it. I discovered that I LOVE Watercolors thanks to Mr. Karraker and I ended up doing my Senior Show in Watercolors!
One of my watercolor paintings:
