What's on your Monday Menu RNY'ers?
Good morning. Everyone is out of the office this morning, so it's a little quieter than normal - giving me a chance to post my menu. Things are going well, but still lightly snacking on the weekend. It's keeping my loss slow, so I'm still working on minor adjustments. But, I'm pretty happy with where I'm at and the progress. I'm going to do CAMAW, but not doing yogurt. I find that after my yogurt I feel hungrier than just eating some jerky - so I'm making that my snack this week. I find that if I have some fat with breakfast that I don't need anything to lunch.
Looking forward to support group tonight, as my therapist is the speaker. I always give him topics for the session. This week is can you give in to snacking and be successful. His answer is maybe - you can still be successful with snacking, but you put yourself onto a slippery slope of risk. The rule he's given me (that I don't adhere to on the weekend) is only planned snacks are allowed. Planned is no later than whenever you make the plan for the day. For me that is the night before. Therefore, if I'm going to a party and I know they'll serve veggie, fruit and cheese or whatever (I usually check ahead) - only those foods can be consumed. No spur of the moment eating. That is the goal I'm striving for. So today's snack that is planned is 1.5 oz of turkey jerky (150 calories 22 g protein) and a piece of cheese before support group tonight.
QOTD - I'm pretty serious about my vitamins. If I forget my calcium on the weekend - I get upset with myself. I pack them on the weekend now when I plan my day. Has really helped. I do a mix of vitamins
My clinic is adamant that 2 Flintstones Multis is enough, so I've stuck with that - though I think Target's version tastes good and is a little cheaper. I can't seem to find the Centrum version that is chewable. I might switch to those if I stumble upon them.
Bariatric advantage calcium - both chews and chew-able tablets - I'm not messing around with that stuff. I even take 4 vs. 3 a few days a week.
B12 I've bounced around - I've landed on either B12 from Vitamin shoppe or Bariatric advantage's version. BA has folic added, so I'm assuming that is important. So I'm starting to rely on those going forward
Iron - I use a generic version of the type my Hemonc recommended (so I double dose with the Flinstone's) as with the calcium, this one freaks me out. So I'm staying on top of it, as well as calcium spacing interval for absorption. Hemonc wants 1000mg of C and a fish oil with this iron dose, so I use the Costco chewable
Vitamin D 5000 a day with Fish oil - so because of spacing of doses, I take 2 fish oil a day
My Heptalogist recommended the ap Mango heath as a reminding tool. It works very well to ping the various B12 and calcium dose reminders. The rest go with my twice daily meds container
B - 2 eggs, 1/2 costco chicken sausage (salsa)
L - 3.5 oz Costco brisket with a small salad
S - Jerky
D - 4 oz Chicken stuffed with broccoli (I'll pick most of that out)
S - Cheese
HW 510 / SW 424/ GW 175 (stretch goal to get 10 under) / CW 160 (I'm near the charts ideal weight - wonder if I can stay here)

Good morning all~ JB you will be missed, take care of yourself! Peach thanks for taking the lead! I am still in San Diego but leaving in a little bit to go home - a 5+/- drive. I had a fantastic and fun weekend with my kiddo. I'm just so proud of him and I miss him already!
QOTD - Good one! Everyday - I'm really good about taking them and rarely forget. I have a reminder on my phone also. I take a sublingual b12 500 m/w/f at 7am, Centrum Silver Multi +50 and Calcium citrate 500 (walmart brand) 7am and 7 pm, a bariatric fusion iron chew at noon. It's been a while since I bought any and I can't remember the cost. I believe the Iron is about $30 for 60. I'm not confident about choosing the right iron pills - got the wrong pill once and when I realized it, I went back to the bariatric chew version and I have not re visited the pills since. I'll be curious to see what everyone else uses.
Accountability - I ate 2 big french fries and a few fried won tons on my salad
b- coffee x3, yogurt
l-when I get home
d-eggs and cheese
es yogurt
v/l on track
e- none
Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for asking Kelly! Traffic was soooo slow all the way home - 6+ hours boo!! Not sure where I left off with my son... He was originally diagnosed with a fractured femur (via xray), but after not improving as he should they did an MRI - he did not have a fracture (huh, right?), it was a torn Labrum - the cartilage at the hip socket. He is off crutches, receiving cortisone and PT that was just extended until he is fit for duty - probably another 2 months. They don't think he will need surgery at this point and they are not going to medical separate him, which is great news! He just wants to move on with his training and get out to the fleet with everyone else.

You ladies are awesome for jumping in to keep this going!! I'll post more later, I'm running late to a meeting but wanted to say I am the (self appointed) queen of random questions so if I can help with QOTD, let me know!

Good morning!! I've got a meeting break so wanted to jump on here and keep myself accountable!
weekend was great - the new Christopher Robin movie is so cute, very emotional, even my guy friends cried.
I have not been happy with the scale, my weight loss has slowed this month and this week I even gained a bit (2.2 lbs). I did a crap job working out last week so that was part of it, but I went through my food tracker and over the last 4 weeks my avg calories in have gone up from 443 when I was happier with my progress to about 700. Mostly protein, dairy and carbs in the 20 or less range, but still too high. This week I'm focusing on lean meats, 400-500 calories, and I have 6 work outs scheduled on my calendar. I only have one social engagement this week which is a bit of a relief. Sorry for the long paragraph, just feel more set up for success if I say it out loud (virtually).
qotd - I do a b12 shot once a month; I've been doing two celebrate calcium chews a day, plus the celebrate chewable multi plus iron (one in the morning and one at night); I'm just about done with those and can go to non chewables once they are done, this month. Even pre surgery, I've had vitimin D and iron issues (and my doc never laughed at my thought that all I needed to do was eat a cheeseburger in the sun to fix it). Right now my ferritin and d are trending up, I think it's probably a combo of the flush out from the fat stores and the consistency in taking the chews and the chewables every day. My bari nurse, my primary care and I are all tracking for trends so very aware (I'm using julie's Tracking spreadsheet to both track results and to make sure the right things are beinf tested!)
b - premiere + coffee
l - dannon L&f Greek, 2 oz deli ham
d - 2 oz deli turkey
454 cal, 68 protein, 18 carbs
i have Pilates this afternoon, and also have to clean the laundry room so good exercise on tap!
