Mornin' All - and thanks for getting us started, Peach!
So I'm pretty much done with the huge projects I had to get done before surgery - so now I have a couple of days of leisure until I head off to surgery! (we leave for Chicago Wed afternoon. Presurgery appt is Thursday morning, surgery is Friday morning). But I have a lot of little things I need to do today and tomorrow. My brother arrives from NC tomorrow - he's going to house- and cat-sit for us while we're away - looking forward to spending a couple of days with him!
accountability was good, even though I made some switches. Weight is lower than it's been in weeks. YAY!
QOTD: I'm great about taking my vitamins - in fact, I had to hide my calcium chews because I'm not supposed to take any supplements this week in preparation for surgery, and I kept reaching into my purse to get a chew before remembering no, I'm not supposed to be taking these... Anyway, I take Walgreens or CVS generic multivitamins, magnesium, and vitamin C. I'm still using Sundown Perfect Iron because I bought up every bottle I could once I heard it was discontinued. I take Superior Source D, K, and B12. Calcium citrate - I have three sources: Upcal D, generic tablets from Walgreens, and Bariatric Advantage chews for when I'm away from home. And I take Integrative Therapeutics B-complex.
3 years 2 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt with homemade blueberry/rhubarb sauce
MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake
L: having lunch with a friend, so not sure. Something safe!
D: pork chop and corn on the cob
ex: Water in Motion (an aqua fit class - similar to Aqua Zumba or intense water aerobics)

Hope you enjoy some relaxing before the big day!

Good morning! JB, we will miss you starting the thread! I'm sure between Peach and whoever jumps on for Tuesday/Thursday will do great! I'm also up around 5:30 AM central time for work and can get the thread started any weekday if nobody has started us off yet :)
I had a brief update on my brother (for those who don't catch The Weekend threads, my 32 year old brother had a stroke Friday night. He is himself a neurologist, and once alert, has been looking at his own charts, and ordering his own further tests). Other than he's already started some basic physical therapy to help with paralysis on his left side, but nothing intense. He is having nerve pain (just moving the bedsheets over his skin hurts him) and on medications for that as well as blood thinners. He expects to be moved out of the ICU soon, once they determine that he isn't at risk for more blood clots.
qotd: I started on Bariatric Fusion chewables at my doctors recommendation but you have to take 4 of those a day and I couldn't remember to get in all 4. I was worried about not absorbing properly if I took 2 in the morning and 2 at night. I do still have a hard time swallowing pills, so I switched to Centrum chewable and take one AM and one PM. I also do Costco brand calcium citrate with...magnesium and zinc? I can't quite remember the combo. But the pills are big so I have to cut them into pieces. I also take iron but it's ferrous sulphate and I'm not sure that's the best kind? There are so many types of iron it gets confusing. I'm open to suggestions.
Breakfast: Premier and coffee
lunch: leftover zucchini enchiladas. They didn't roll up as prettily as the Facebook video promised, so its more like an enchilada zucchini casserole now :P
dinner: I pulled a rotisserie chicken over the weekend, froze some, and what I put in the fridge I'll heat up and add some sugar free bbq sauce and we'll eat with homemade pickles and the last picking of my green beans (planted new plants for fall crops)

Yes. He's been pretty health conscious since college, he exercises and eats fairly well. But he was born with a heart condition and has had a pacemaker since childhood, so while shocking, strokes have always been a potential threat.
