What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
on 8/2/18 6:53 am
I know what you mean about pajamas day, we are in the midst of "shorts week" and it just is not going to happen (not just because the glare off my so white legs would blind everyone but also because I'd be so uncomfortable in shorts in the office)

Good morning! I've been stressed at work as well--I was rush trained on a new process because the only other person who knew how to process these types of accounts has moved on after training me, so now I'm the only "expert" in this area...but I just learned it Friday. I got a research request from an unhappy financial advisor (my workplace is the "back office" for thousands of independed financial advisors) and haven't the first clue...
qotd: I got nuthin.
breakfast: had time to make a quick fried egg this morning, coffee and Premier at work
lunch: tuna creations, string cheese
snack: Greek L&F
dinner: something involving chicken and zucchini. Maybe I'll carve the zucchini into a boat and stuff it with chicken and some kind of sauce or cheese?

Good morning!
My bike needed another bottom bracket put in, so it's in the shop for a while. The walk in was pretty great though, except the first 10-15 minutes I was ANNIHILATED by mosquitoes....then, nothing for the next 50 minutes. I hate those things. LOL

Hi JB & Menu family!
Do you remember me? I feel like it's been eons since I last posted. What a couple of weeks it has been.
1) if you recall, my good friend and her daughter got into a head-on collision. They are doing ok but it was a very scary accident. I can't be any more proud of our little community. Everybody stepped up with meal trains and round the clock help for them. They went back home last weekend. They'll be OK and will have help as long as they need it.
2) right when I thought "phew, back to regular programming" I got a call from my brother that our mom had a heart attack. He is such a prankster that I didn't believe him. But he was on the ambulance with her when he called. Whatever they gave her on the ambulance saved her. Already by the time they got to the hospital she was better. They saw that she had a 90% blockage in her carotid. Operated right away with stent through her arm. She had a heart attack in the lower right chamber of her heart. The Dr said another hr and she would have been dead. But now all is good, better than before. They are watching a blood cloth in her arm where they operated, but they say the blood flow is good so it will resolve. I asked my brother if I need to go back to Italy but he said she'll be OK and doesn't need 24 hr help.
I'm exhausted from fear.
3) leaving for Kauai tomorrow. DH & DS have been in Honolulu since Mon for an additional surf session and will join DD & I in Kauai on Fri. At first I really thought to send the family on vacation and for me to go back to Italy to stay with my mom, but my brother insisted all is good and no need to cancel vacation. I had plans to go home anyway at the end of August. But I feel guilty.
So, won't be able to post till mid Aug, because if already in CA I'm always the last posting, HI is 6 hours behind east coast, by the time I post you guys will be all done and gone!!
Miss you guys and the daily updates. Send some positive energy for my mom.
Happy Fri eve!
