What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
I'm sorry your day was tough yesterday, but I'm sure they will get better. Will you get another co-principal?
QOTD: I'm terrible at pranks or even remembering jokes well enough to tell them. My mother had a great dry humor. When she was dying I told her that I wished I had inherited her sense of humor and she said "Well, there were just so many things in life that you had to laugh about".
Accountability: Calories weren't terrible but many of them were post-dinner when I didn't need them. I need to drink decaf at night as it helps.
2 Years, 4 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 20 months)
Always lots of coffee...
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: Grilled chicken
S: Siggis yogurt (need to use what's there before making more homemade, but I will be making it myself from now on - I also have 2 more containers of cottage cheese to use then I'm trying homemade cottage cheese)

Your mom sounds great! One of my tattoos I designed specifically to remind me that you have to laugh in the face of the madness and chaos that life can be; I look at it every day to help with that.

I was lucky to get to know this side of her in the last 10+ years. Prior to that she was a long-term alcoholic and I didn't really know her until she stopped drinking.

Thanks, yes it is one of my favorite memories as it really captured her essence at the end of her days.

Good morning and happy hump day~ JB, your attitude towards your predicament shows true leadership. You will do and be great! Another fantastic commute this morning- I was the only one on the back road for about 25 minutes, it was so peaceful and a great way to start the day - especially being off the damn freeway!
QOTD -Not really, not much imagination in that department. Even joking, deception is hard for me and besides I'm too expressive and would give it away. Growing up one of my sisters was always the victim of pranks because she was so gullible! I think she has PTSD from my brothers always messing with her!
Accountability - swapped my Ha*****icken breast lettuce wrap for a char-hamburger lettuce wrap at the last minute and I regret nothing! A few more cals, but I was still about 600 for the day and NO FRIES! Win!
20 mo post op - 163.2

I see my surgeon today he should have to results of the biopsy of my ulcer. Not sure what that will tell me. I've never had one before and I know stress contributes to it. On Monday all I wanted to do is retire, I'm not old enough and I couldn't afford it but I've got to do something. I'm tired of feeling overwhelmed at work, too many projects and not enough time. Plus being a contractor I have no benefits, no overtime, no holidays or vacation and I desperately need a vacation. I'm trying to get to the place where I can just say it's in my pile and I'll get to it when I can, but that is a hard thing for me to do.
I've been walking everyday before work, I'm getting worried that soon it will be too dark to walk outside. Today is overcast so it was much darker at 5AM than usual, I don't know why but I was worried about my safety this morning, but I didn't see anyone. Part of my walk is along a trail that is in the trees so even darker than usual.
Someone talked about being affected by television, yes sometimes I am but more so by books. With my personal history of rape and domestic violence some things trigger me, so I have to be careful to know that it is not me but a book and someone else and not take it on. Which is not always an easy thing for me. And I have had a movie trigger my PTSD.
